"Chose Different Home Over Sunrise’s Layout and Cleanliness"
I visited the Sunrise at Old Meridian place and the design didn’t impress me. It seemed like it wasn’t completely clean. I understand that some folks living there might have accidents, and yes, there was a smell of urine. The person who showed me around was super friendly, but the area for people with memory issues was too tight and packed. Plus, I didn’t like the idea of my mom being in a memory care spot way up on the third floor. So, we ended up picking a different place because Sunrise just didn’t feel right for us.

"Sunrise Assisted Living: Responsive Staff, Two Memory Care Levels"
At Sunrise, they offer two levels of memory care, which we found helpful. As needs progress, they provide more advanced care. The room sizes are suitable for her needs. The process is straightforward, and the staff engages well with families. I would recommend it to others searching for similar care.

"Needs Better Communication and Food Quality"
Our family member sometimes dislikes the food—it reminds them of mush. The staff shortage affects everything, and we understand everyone is doing their best. We suggest improving how they share the monthly calendar; currently, it’s only posted in the elevator, and residents don’t receive copies due to memory concerns.

"Staff are great, but some aren't vaccinated"
They tell our families what's happening before they tell us, which I don't like. The staff are generally great. Some staff aren't vaccinated, and I think it would be better if everyone was vaccinated.

"Great Staff and Activities, Some Food Limitations"
I think you should check out this place for your loved one. The staff are really nice and help the residents join in on activities. They try to get the food the residents like, but sometimes they can’t because of pandemic issues.

"Great amenities, small rooms. Worth touring!"
I really liked this place and the staff were great at showing me around. There were lots of things for the people who live here to do. The rooms seemed a bit small for what I wanted for my dad, and I was worried that the community might be too big for him to feel comfortable moving around in. But I still think it's worth taking a tour here.

"Sunrise on Old Meridian is Great for My Uncle"
My uncle is doing really well at Sunrise on Old Meridian. He really likes the staff because they are friendly and very helpful. He enjoys going to the daily exercise classes. My uncle feels very comfortable here, and he likes the dining room, the menus, and the other options he has. The resident doctor sees my uncle on Fridays, and they are helping adjust his meds. They keep me informed about everything. I would recommend Sunrise to my friends and family.

"Think Twice: Poor Care Demands a Better Facility for Loved Ones"
I sent my dad to this place for a temporary stay, hoping to make it a long-term solution. He seemed happy at first, but things quickly soured. Many times, staff members would be nowhere in sight when I visited, which made me worry about how they would handle a crisis. I found 'clean' clothes and sheets still covered in dirt, soap, and stains. Drawers in the shared suites were also dirty. Objects like glass vases were left out where residents could potentially use them to hurt themselves. One time, my dad had to be rushed to the hospital because he didn't get his medicine on time, and no one bothered to let us know. They hadn't shaved or bathed him for a week before that happened. Having your family member here means you have to monitor their care all the time, unless they can speak up for themselves. It's not worth paying them for such poor care.

"Friendly Staff and Spacious Apartments, but Pricey"
We enjoyed this place! The staff and residents were super friendly and helpful. The floor plans, including the studio apartments, had plenty of room. The only downside was the price.

"Nice community, consider if more care needed."
This place seemed really nice. The folks I met during the tour were friendly. The staff who work in the assisted living section make sure to check on the residents every two hours. The apartments are a bit smaller and have fewer options for layouts compared to the community we ended up choosing. We would have thought about choosing this community if my mom needed more help.

"Parking Issues and Pet Policy Disappointment"
I had some issues with this place. First, it was really hard to find a parking spot. I had to drive around twice before someone came out and I could park. Second, they allow pets everywhere, which made me worried about my allergies. I didn't even make it to the tour. This place might be good for pet owners though.

"Great Staff on Lower Floors! Care Decreases on Higher Levels"
My mom spent around a year and a half living independently in this facility, which was great! Terona, one of the staff, was fantastic and always ready to help, even on her off days. Later, we had to move my mom to the locked section on the third floor due to her worsening dementia. This area is for patients with Alzheimer's or severe dementia, although my mom wasn't quite at that stage yet. The staff who worked on this floor was wonderful with Mom and the floor supervisor. Then, Mom was moved to the 4th floor. This area still provided dementia care but was less restrictive and didn't have locked doors. Here, we noticed a downgrade in the level of care. There were instances where mom was left in her dirty clothes for too long, and the room wasn't cleaned frequently. Her laundry wasn't done regularly either, leaving the room smelling bad. We have raised these issues, and they get fixed, but at this cost, these complaints shouldn't be necessary!

"Nice Assisted Living with Dual Memory Care Levels"
Nice place! I appreciate having two memory care levels, although I’m unsure about the higher level not being a locked unit. The residents are functional and talkative. The pricing feels like a nickel-and-dime setup—room cost, basic charge ($40/day), level of care ($62/day), and medicine charge ($18/day).

"Pretty good place overall."
They keep it really clean, and the staff is friendly. They’re good at communicating and addressing my questions, concerns, and requests. The only issue is their somewhat confusing accounting. The bill isn’t straightforward. However, we have no complaints about the food. Overall, it feels like the most home-like place.

The place is in a nice spot, but I didn't see much chatting between the people living there. I'd love to have dinner there, though. The dining room is really pretty.

"Sunrise feels homey but has confusing care levels and layout."
Sunrise is reminiscent of a big house. I had a tour but I got mixed up with the building design and had a tough time understanding the complex care levels, of which there are three or four, and four layers within each. Some areas look good, but others do not, mainly due to a recent pipe burst that spoiled the initial impression. The tour was too fast and didn't pause enough for me to soak it all in, but I did see some neat spots - like a coffee shop with planned activities, and comfortable porches and patios. The staff seemed really involved and friendly.

"Friendly Staff, Homelike Atmosphere, Varied Activities; Small Apartments"
I met with the staff who was really nice and helpful. The place seems like a good choice. I liked how cozy it felt and the meal plan. The person in charge of activities was full of energy. The schedule of events looked interesting. The apartments were a bit small, and the kitchen seemed too big. I'm not sure how good the physical therapy options are.

"Six Jewish Residents, Care Manager, and Good Amenities"
Six Jewish residents live here—three in independent living and two in memory care. There’s one care manager for every six to eight residents. Rehab services aren’t on staff, but doctors, hearing specialists, and podiatrists visit. The facility has a 24-hour nurse available. Most of the rooms are studios with good bathrooms. The dining room, common area, and lounges are very nice.
