"Quality Decline Under New Ownership"
The new owners really messed things up at the assisted living facility. The staff used to be great, but now they're just average.

"Friendly, clean, great support for Alzheimer's/dementia."
The experience with them so far has been positive, caring, and inviting! It's a great family-oriented place where everyone is friendly and supportive, creating a community, family atmosphere. I picked this place because it's clean and they know how to support and help people with Alzheimer's/dementia.

"Disappointing Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
My grandma had some serious falls while staying at this facility, which ended up landing her in the hospital. In two consecutive winters, her falls resulted in two broken pelvises, a fact confirmed by doctors' X-rays. Initially, she was able to walk when she moved in. We discovered after her first fall that they were giving her pain medicine that wasn't prescribed to her and would make her dizzy. After her second fall, she caught pneumonia and sadly, didn't recover. What makes it worse is the fact that the more insurance a patient has, the more money the home makes when that patient has an "accident." The payment for the patient in that situation skyrockets. And when they had to refund an extra month my grandma had paid in advance, after she passed away, they gave the money to the temporary POA, not the listed beneficiary. Just a few days after my grandma's death, I was in her room packing up her things. I heard the facility administrator muttering as she passed by, saying something about how "we people" wanted a picture of our deceased loved one. I guess she wasn't recognized me, but I felt disturbed by what she said. After all, there were no more payments coming from us, so her friendly act stopped.

"Overworked Staff At Walker Neglecting Resident Care Duties"
Our time with Mom at Walker was pretty bad. The caregivers are asked to do so much, it's just not fair. They're supposed to look after the residents, help in the dining room, do laundry and take out the trash, all while still caring for the residents. They're always short-staffed, even though the caregivers do their absolute best. These women treated my mother wonderfully, but what they’re having to deal with is just awful, they should be focusing on giving care to the residents instead of all the extra stuff they have to do!
