"Mixed Feelings About Staff and Food at Assisted Living"
I've lived here for five years, and there have been many changes. The staff is really good at their jobs, and right now, I think we have the best staff. The food in the dining room has gotten a little better, but some of it is still so bad that I wouldn't even feed it to a dog!

"A Welcoming and Safe Place to Live"
When I moved to Wood Ridge, I felt shy and nervous. But the activity director helped me get involved. It's a great place to live, and I'm now the resident communal president. I teach a Bible study and spend most of my day in the activity room. They really make you feel safe and welcome.

"Old, Unimpressive Facility with Medicaid Option"
I wasn't too thrilled with this community. They're one of few places where you can apply for a medicaid supplement, which is tempting. But, the place is pretty old and they're planning to renovate it. It doesn't look clean and it doesn't give off a good vibe. It feels more like a nursing home than an assisted living facility.

"Wood Ridge is Great, but Nursing Home was Best for Mom"
We were happy with our experience at Wood Ridge Assisted Living, but my mom needed more care than they could give. She got dehydrated twice, and her dementia got worse instead of better. After another hospital stay, we moved her to Holy Cross Sanctuary. There were some problems at first, but after a thorough psych evaluation and new medications, she went back to Holy Cross and is adjusting well. It's only been a week since she returned, but we think the nursing home is the right place for her.

"Unimpressive tour of Assisted Living Facility with Dad and Siblings"
My dad, along with us kids who tagged along, didn't find the assisted living facility pleasing. We realized there was no sort of security at the main door. The carpet throughout was marked with many stains, and the place had a stale odor. We observed the residents were left alone as they slept in their wheelchairs in common areas; staff wasn't seen engaging with them in any activities. Multiple staff members walked by without acknowledging us. We did meet with the facility's director, who was nice and gave us a thorough tour. She also informed us that they had just got a grant approved to refurbish the entire place with a fresh coat of paint and new carpet. However, all in all, our family felt this facility wasn't the right choice for our dad.

"Underwhelming and lacking care."
My dad and us were disappointed. No security, dirty, neglectful atmosphere.

"Lacking Private Bedroom, Feels More like Tiny Dorm Room"
There's no individual bedroom. It's incredibly tiny. It feels like a dorm room, not a place you'd call home.

"Facility with Potential Lacks Security and Engagement for Residents"
I kinda liked this place, but the front door wasn't always locked, and it seemed kinda dull for the people living there. It felt more like a nursing home than a lively community. Also, I hardly ever saw the staff around.
