"Dated Facility with Narrow Hallways and No Rehab Center"
I visited Addington Place of Prairie Village. During my visit, I saw residents in a group session, but they didn't seem interested in what they were doing. The hallways were too narrow for my dad's electric chair. The rooms were just okay, but the whole place looked old and didn't have a rehab center. The location wasn't good or easy for me to get to.

"Friendly Staff, Consider Staffing"
I like this community. It’s a nice place, but staffing can be an issue. Keep that in mind. The existing staff are great.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
The Atrium at Overland Park gave us a really good tour. We didn't pick it because it has multiple floors, and my loved one is afraid of elevators, which would be a problem. Also, it didn't feel as cozy as another place we were thinking about.

"Mixed Review: Good Rooms, Poor Staffing and Food Quality"

"Poor Care and Rude Staff Cost Us Extra Money"
I feel like the facility did not take care of my mother properly. We had to hire extra help for her, which cost us $5000 more. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. They did not communicate well and did things after we told them not to. The staff was very rude and tried to charge us for an extra month.

"Tough Choice Due to No Medicaid Acceptance"
The place was really nice. The rooms looked new and modern, and it felt like a friendly community. Sadly, they don't take Medicaid, which makes our decision harder.

"Poor Care and Unfulfilled Promises at Assisted Living Home"
Right now, I'm looking for a new home for my dad. They've neglected him, leaving him all night in his wheelchair without a single check-in. The sales rep's promises entirely missed the mark. The director doesn't follow through with her promises. The food is just terrible. They've ignored medical problems too. The whole experience has been very disappointing.

"Profit Over People: A Family's Struggle with Assisted Living"
Our loved one has been at AP for a year and a half. At first, we were happy with the management and staff. But then, things started to change with the management and keeping employees. It became clear that Cedarhurst Living cared more about making money than about the residents' well-being. Appliances like ice makers have been broken for over 18 months and still haven't been fixed or replaced. The washing machines use the cheapest soap and sat in a hallway for three weeks without being installed, making it hard for the staff to do laundry. Speaking of laundry, my family member's sheets aren't changed or washed unless I do it myself. Her room isn't cleaned either. We paid a lot of money for these services. When I asked the staff about it, they said, "What housekeeping? Not long ago, only four employees were working to take care of 70 residents. I stayed to help the staff and came back the next two nights because I cared. The staff are scolded if they tell family members that they don't have enough people. There are some really kind and caring employees who aren't appreciated. Promises are made to family members, but they're not kept. Management ignores the concerns and suggestions of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) about the residents. In the end, it's all about the money: fill the facility with residents, pay the staff less, spend as little as possible on the residents and maintaining the place.
