"Mixed Feelings about Assisted Living Facility"
The place seemed nice and not too expensive. But I didn't understand everything. If they need workers to do something, they need a doctor's order. Keep checking on family often because they don't check for falls after one happens, and they don't tell family about them. The people are friendly, but they only do the least they can for residents.

"Mixed Experience at Bickford Assisted Living"
It's too bad that this place has trouble finding enough staff, which affects the overall experience. Bickford went through changes right after my dad moved in, and the original staff was great, but they started letting them go. The medication management hasn't been consistent, but luckily, my dad doesn't need serious meds. It's okay for independent folks, but not recommended for those needing more attention.

"Assisted Living with Caring Staff and Varied Activities"
Finding a place that provides good care nowadays is hard because many places don't have enough staff, which affects everything. The staff at this place work very hard, and most of them are honest and dependable. I see them showing kindness and real interest in my Mom, especially since my Dad recently passed away. The place could be cleaner, but overall it's not bad. Being friendly is crucial when taking care of vulnerable seniors like my parents. They were very nice to my parents and me. Even though they don't have enough staff, they really try to take good care of my Mom, especially since my Dad recently passed away. The food has a good variety and tastes good. There are plenty of different activities that are helpful for making friends and staying connected emotionally.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
I'd suggest this place for loved ones. Meals are good, residents feel cared for. Need to clean better, communicate more with families. They struggle due to many residents per staff. Like daycare, want to know all, but sometimes ignored.

"Great Care, Some Supply Issues"
The nurses and caregivers were excellent! They made sure my loved one was safe and well looked after. We brought our own toilet paper, paper towels, and toiletries, but they always disappeared. We're not sure if my loved one was sharing them or if the staff didn't realize we brought them to make sure they had enough.

"Neglected Facility Fails to Renovate under Poor Leadership"
This place's quality has dipped during the past couple of years, mostly because of bad leadership and constant staff turnover. They claimed they would renovate two years ago, but you can still see signs of neglect all around, like a faulty air conditioning system, a leaky ceiling on the second floor, grubby windows, and walls with scuffed and flaking paint. Considering the hefty fee they demand, you can certainly choose a far superior place. Beware of the name change: it's just the same old incapable folks in charge.

"Great tour, but cost higher and facility had concerns."
We had a great tour at Bickford at Mission Springs. The only problem was that the cost was higher than other places we looked at, and I had some concerns about the facility.

"Great place with clean environment, friendly staff, and good food"
The assisted living community is nice, but your loved one needs to be fairly independent because there aren't many medical staff around. The place is always clean and tidy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is tasty, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy.

"Neglect at Assisted Living"
In the part of the assisted living place where my loved one stayed, I felt like there weren't enough people watching over her. We had some bad experiences with falls. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you can move around easily. Also, I didn't know there wasn't a nurse available in the evenings or at night. There's too much neglect happening during those times. I want others to know this upfront because I didn't. Despite the challenges due to Covid, the dining room looked clean, but the resident rooms were not.

"Considered Other Options Due to Care Concerns"
During the tour, they felt the community couldn't handle my dad's care like his old place did. The staff refused to give him a shot to help his behavior. They weren't a good match.

"Great Staff and Clean Community!"
The food is pretty healthy, and I'd give it a 3.75 out of 5. They have daily activities and trips. The staff are awesome and really good with the residents. They encourage everyone to join in the activities. This place is clean and well taken care of. The price is reasonable for what you get.

"Mom’s Cozy Experience"
I liked how the staff took care of my mom—they were patient and attentive. The place felt tidy, clean, and welcoming. Although they were updating rugs on the lower levels, it still had a cozy home vibe. Mom enjoyed the restaurant-style breakfast, and the service was excellent. I’d recommend it to others.

"Strong, mobile, stubborn, and dementia are hard to place."
The staff is super friendly. Meals are served restaurant-style, with soup and a sandwich for the evening meal. Some residents who need help eating are left to manage on their own. The decor is beautiful, and the apartments are nice. It's great for more independent residents. However, my husband was admitted with rapidly progressing Alzheimer's. He'd been hospitalized for agitation before coming here, so the staff knew his situation. But he started refusing meds, barely ate or drank, and resisted changing clothes or hygiene care. They couldn't engage him in activities over time. Caring for him became really challenging. Eventually, he was sent to a behavior hospital, and now he can't return unless we provide 24-hour care which I can't afford.

"Aging in Place Not Ideal: Room Concerns and Affordability"
Assisted living has sunny rooms available now. We could afford the current room, but might fall short when he needs more care. We wanted to age in place, so we wouldn't have to change rooms. We'll have to check again. Mom thought the place was dark and not secure.

"Nursing Home Chaos: Broken Alarms and Smells"
The place smelled bad, like a nursing home. The doors lock, but they open if you hold the bar down for 15 seconds. It was chaotic, and the alarms were broken. However, the nurse who gave the tour was excellent.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
I wanted to like this place more. It wasn't as clean as others. The people living there seemed a bit confused. It wasn't terrible but the phones rang and no one answered them. Plus, there were no chairs in the library.
