"**"Poor Care and Communication at Assisted Living Facility"**"
Pressed the help button, waited over an hour no one came. Nurse arrived 45 minutes late with meds, then argued about timing. She couldn't read computer instructions. Avoid this place.

"Great Assisted Living Choice!"
I'm sharing my thoughts based on how my sister feels about being at The Village. The staff quality varies – some caregivers are really good, while others aren't. The ones I've met seem friendly and helpful. Food is a concern for her; she compares it to my cooking! Chicken gives her trouble, so she avoids it. When I've visited during meals, the food looks and smells good. But food complaints are common. Unsure if she can choose from a separate menu. She's not into activities due to her personality. Overall, the cost seems reasonable for the care she receives. They assist with her needs, even though she's not always pleasant. My assessment: The Village is great! I recommended it to a friend, and she's happier there than before. I'm content with it as a place for my sister.

"Assisted Living Review: Convenient location, green space view, ongoing positive changes."
We chose The Villages at Mission quickly because they had availability and were close to his address. It was convenient for me when I stayed over. Compared to two others, this was the only place with accessible green space, which was crucial for us. His room also overlooks greenery. I recommend them with some hesitation—they're still adjusting after being recently bought out. Overall, I believe the changes they're making are beneficial.

"Lacking Communication and COVID Management at Assisted Living Facility"
This place isn't one I'd suggest. They didn't handle COVID well at the beginning. They're bad at talking and don't call back or keep in touch.

"Friendly Staff and Convenient Location at Brighton Gardens"
We picked Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village because it's near my aunt's house. The rooms are kinda small compared to others we checked out. My aunt thinks the food is alright for now. But what's really nice about this place is the staff. They're super helpful and informative. Whenever I call, they're quick to provide info and assist my aunt in calling me. I'd say this community is worth recommending.

"Incompetent Nurse and Scarce Staff Ruin Assisted Living Experience"
The service we got wasn't what they promised! Memory Care was superb with staff that treated my mom excellently. But on the assisted living side, you can hardly find any staff! The nurse who was supposedly in charge, [name removed], was incapable! Can't believe she holds the position she has! I won't advise anybody to choose this place!

"Shockingly Poor Care and Hygiene at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom was a patient at their rehab center. Her care was abysmal. She suffers from chronic diarrhea, which contributed to her hospital stay, and she was not provided her necessary meds for four whole days. When I confronted the nurse, he couldn't even look at me and gave a vague, unsatisfactory response about why she needed her specific medication. He didn't acknowledge the importance of doctor's orders and didn't seem to care that we hadn't been informed or we could have provided the medicine. This man didn't feel any need to apologize or even get out of his seat. Additionally, she wasn't bathed the entire week she was there. Recently, I learned they've had numerous COVID patients and fatalities; it doesn't surprise me. The staff would cross-train, which is normal, but they'd assist my mom to the toilet while she had norovirus, wearing kitchen aprons and then returning to the kitchen. In my 35 years of nursing, I've never been so disheartened, particularly with that unprofessional, lazy nurse. Thankfully, we managed to relocate my mom within the week to a splendid facility in Shawnee. She's now doing great at home. It breaks my heart thinking about the other patients still there.

"Brighton Gardens Fails in Trustworthiness and COVID-19 Alertness"
Ten days ago, my siblings and I had to relocate our mother from Brighton Gardens. We discovered that the place is a breeding ground for COVID-19, and the management concealed this serious danger from all the residents and their families. We had disastrously inadequate communication from the executive director, who did not properly contact us through email or phone. Thankfully, due to the Freedom of Information Act and the Johnson County Health Department, we were alerted about the situation at Brighton Gardens – without them, our mother might not have survived! When we finally obtained the actual count of positive cases, we took it up with the executive director, only to be told that she was cluefully unaware about the number of cases at Brighton Gardens. When we disclosed the figures that were reported to the JCHD, she admitted that there indeed existed a problem. It was a tough situation given none of us lived in Kansas City, as it took us two days to secure a safer place for our mom. Trust is crucial in choosing a long-term care provider. It's certainly something we were let down on in Brighton Gardens. Upon reflecting on our experience, I hope others consider the failure in communication when considering this care home. If given the chance, I would have rated Brighton Gardens a zero.

"Perfect Home for Specialized Memory and Nursing Care"
After her doctor and several hospitals suggested she needed a place with both memory care and skilled nursing, we found Brighton Gardens for my wife’s sister. She’s made amazing progress since moving here. We really believe she’s finally found her HOME. Thanks!

"Unattended Patients in Rehabilitation Facility: A Sad Reality"
My critique is only about the rehab section of this place. After a rough pneumonia episode, my dad got transferred here from the hospital. Whenever we press the nurse call button, nobody comes. It's been four days already. Just 25 minutes ago, we pressed the button again and still no response. Right now, there's this lady across the hallway calling out for help, but no one is answering. I wish I could help her, but I can't leave my dad alone due to his dementia. Please don't put your loved ones in this facility.

"Wonderful care and compassion at Brighton Gardens in Prairie Village"
About a year ago, we moved my dad to Brighton Gardens in Prairie Village, Kansas. Before that, he was at Park Meadows, which is part of Spectrum, but they didn’t have the right staff or skills to take care of him properly. We knew exactly what we wanted for his care. Brighton Gardens is where we found the most caring and kind people. They took care of my dad with respect, love, and kindness. From the aides and support staff to the dining crew, reception, and administrative staff, everyone showed genuine care and attention. Their team was great at figuring out the best level of care for my dad and made us feel like part of their family. Even though my dad has passed away, I’ll always be grateful to Brighton Gardens for the loving care they provided. Thank you, Brighton Gardens!

"Friendly Assisted Living with Home-Like Atmosphere"
Brighton Gardens of Prairie Village is a good place for my aunt. She’s still getting used to it after being in and out of the hospital. The staff is friendly, and her room feels like home. The overall atmosphere is warm, and the landscaping looks nice. I’d recommend this community.

"Clean, Kind Staff; Not Ideal Fit for Grandmother's Needs"
I visited this community for my grandmother's needs. Everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly and supportive. The place looked nice and tidy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but it wasn't suitable for my grandmother's needs.
