"Assisted Living Facility Review: Caring Staff and Medicaid Benefits"
The staff at the assisted living facility have been really good to work with, especially during these difficult times. They try their best. My mom has become close with a couple of them. They kept in touch when my mom had to go to the hospital last month. I felt this place offered the most comprehensive care for my mom, and it also had options for Medicaid. This means my mom could stay in the same room even after switching to Medicaid, without needing a roommate. I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends.

"Mixed Experience with Staff Changes"
The assisted living facility could have been more helpful in getting our loved one adjusted and engaged with the community. The nursing staff is excellent, but the daily changes in CNAs made it difficult for our loved one to get to know theme.

"Diverse Unit Options and Hardworking Regular Staff at Lamar Court"
Lamar Court offers great value with transparent costs and move-in specials. They have three unit sizes at different prices. Occasionally, communication issues arise due to their use of temp services. Some temp staff professionalism concerns exist. However, the regular nursing staff diligently ensures excellent care, maintaining good communication and follow-up for residents.

"Lamar Court Assisted Living"
My brother has lived at Lamar Court for several months now. It's a friendly and welcoming place, but they don't have enough staff. This puts pressure on the hard-working employees and the residents who don't get their needs met quickly. The activities are great, and the cook is excellent, but the contracted-out service is very poor. The nursing care is excellent, though, and the cost is reasonable.

"Horrific Conditions & Carelessness: A Harrowing Review of Lamar Court"
This place is just awful! They only have a decent rating because they did a contest to see who could get the most good reviews for them, and the prize was lottery tickets! Almost everyone who wrote a positive review for this place is related to an employee and doesn't really know what's happening behind the scenes. Some staff members even have the audacity to ask for money from the residents' families. And guess what? The staff runs the place, not the administration! So much so, that residents learn personal stuff about the staff. The administration team is mean, sneaky, and just plain dishonest! This place is not really an assisted living facility, it’s more like a skilled facility. Some residents were lied to about the services they would receive when they moved in. Lamar Court cannot even staff their facility properly. They leave the care of your loved ones up to just one certified nurse aid and one nurse for 84 residents! As far as I know, that's not even legal according to the Kansas State Board of Nursing! They've even covered up the reasons why some residents died in order to protect themselves, instructing employees on what lies to tell. One lady died because a nurse aid dropped her breaking her back in four places, and she eventually died because of it. They're also illegally giving a resident's cat insulin, which is completely outside of their licensure. There are several employees who keep getting verbally abused by one person, but Lamar Court just makes excuses. I wouldn’t allow my worst enemy’s family member to stay in this facility. Putting anyone here risks their life.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Facility Receives Mixed Reviews"
Living at Lamar Court has been nice. The people here are great. But, there aren't enough staff members, and it's been like this for a while.

"Lamar Court: Poor care, Honesty Lacking"
I honestly wish I could give zero stars. My mom's room was totally neglected until a privately hired nurse had to shout at them to clean it up. The management - it's always different; every few months new faces who seem to be worse than those before. My mom had a fall, ended up in the hospital and later, in rehab. When the time came for her to go back to Lamar Court, they told me she couldn't - without even reassessing her! After seven plus years of calling this place home, they couldn't even tell her in person. They gave me just two days to find her a new place. If you're looking for sincerity and quality care, don't think of Lamar Court - you definitely won't find either there!

"Very nice layout"
I really like the layout of this place. It's easy to get around, especially for residents with dementia. The staff is friendly and flexible. Unlike other places, they don't have strict meal times. Plus, they accept Medicare after 12 months of private pay. Overall, I'd recommend this facility.

"Good Place, Needs Faster Repairs and Better Cleanliness"
My dad’s doing alright at his new place, but I’ve got a few worries. He’s getting used to it, and I think he’s safe and well-looked after. But, they’re pretty slow to fix stuff. He’s had trouble with the air conditioning and his door. They’ve got to speed up fixing things. The people working here are nice and always ready to help. I keep reminding my dad that they’re here for him. His room is mostly clean, but they’re fixing up the place, so it’s not super tidy everywhere. I’m hoping it’ll get cleaner once they’re done. I tried the food, and it’s tasty. Dad likes what they’re serving too. There’s definitely some things they can do better, but I’d still say this place is worth considering.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living, Room for Improvement"
My dad's doing okay here, but I have some worries. He's still settling in and seems safe. Yet, fixing things takes too long. AC and door troubles linger. Maintenance needs to speed up. The staff is nice and helpful, but I remind Dad they're there for him. His room's tidy, but updates make the community a bit messy. Hope it gets cleaner soon. Tried the food, it's good, and Dad enjoys it. There's potential to do better, but I'd still suggest this place.

"Middle-of-the-Road Review: Progressing Slowly, Room for Improvement"
Lamar Court keeps giving it a shot. You see a lot of staff coming and going, and keeping the place maintained seems to be an uphill battle. They're doing their best to update it, but it's taking way longer than expected. The chefs change more often than the stuff they're cooking. But, on the bright side, they do remember to remind your loved ones about whatever they need. The medical staff is working hard and getting better over time. This place could use some better organization. The person in charge is putting in some serious effort to fix up the property, but it looks like they still have a long way to go. They offer some pretty decent stuff for the residents to do, though. And it's nice that a hairdresser comes in for the residents.

"Unsatisfactory Care and Misleading Management"
Our experience with this assisted living facility was quite poor. It felt like they didn't properly address my dad's needs and overall, they seemed to lack diligence. The way they handle things here is really disappointing. I consistently get the impression that they're not effectively tackling our concerns. They appear to be withholding truth, which causes additional worry. Shockingly, some of their nurses are not even licensed. We also had a few issues with our insurance. It seemed as if they deceived my dad, as such, I firmly advise against recommending this facility to anyone.

""Steer Clear: Poor Facility that Drains Cash Without Providing Care""
Hurry, and get as far from this facility as you can. It's really dirty and badly managed, with staff members always coming and going. If you're okay with doing all the care tasks while they pocket your cash, you'll love it here!

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Clean, Friendly, Activities, Food Options"
This place is going pretty well. It's really clean. Everyone is nice. They have stuff to do, but sometimes getting people to join is hard. You can pick what you want to eat from a menu, which is good for my loved one.

"Staff Fails to Communicate and Follow Through Effectively"
Talking and acting on promises is kind of a struggle here. They tell me comforting things, but then I find myself having to follow up a lot. The meals are decent, but there's not a whole lot of variety, and some of it doesn't really suit older people's taste - like, they serve chili, but there's no chicken noodle soup. And there's this glaring issue of hardly any men working there, despite a fair number of male residents living there.

"Warm and helpful staff; needs decor update for cheerfulness."
This place has really great staff who are super nice and caring. The food is awesome too! But, they could make the place look more modern. It kinda feels like it's stuck in the late 1980s, especially in the lobby and living areas. Brightening things up would make it much nicer.
