"Great Family-Like Assisted Living: Legend at Capital Ridge Review"
I really like Legend at Capital Ridge. It feels like a warm, family environment. The community isn't too big, so residents get more personal attention. When I first visited, I knew it was right for my husband. He's thriving and happy here, which makes his move to a care home easier for me. I would recommend it to others because it's a good value. Compared to other care homes in Topeka, it's nearly half the price. Legend also includes families with special activities, like the upcoming Thanksgiving family meal. It's nice that they involve families too.

"Nice Building, Lacks Care and Services for Loved Ones"
I couldn't give a rating for the activities because no one told me about any, and my loved one didn't say anything about them either. The person in charge seemed nice on the phone and kept saying they would make sure my loved one was getting cleaned and bathed, but they never made that happen. The building itself is nice, but the staff isn't giving the level of care and service I paid extra for. It might be nice, but it's not the right place for people who need extra help with things like taking their meds or getting a shower. I know it's hard to find good help, but they shouldn't be admitting people who need that extra help.

"Issues Persist in Assisted Living Facility Despite Nice Appearance"
We've been at this place for two years now. Replacement carpeting is still not here. The cabinet trim is loose, even after reporting it plenty of times. The cleaning done every week does not cut it. Dad can fix his bed, but back when mom was here the bed got done every day. Don't get why this changed. Staff seems to ignore you or keep away when you report problems. The staff seems to change quite a bit, both office and nursing. Notice that the door code is different each time we visit, which suggests staff changes. One of the CMAs reports every little thing, feels like we're being snitched on. It's getting hard to trust. Would be nice if someone in charge could show up around dinner time. The serving staff does not seem to get along then. Money seems more important here than offering care. I can't figure out how they rate the top places for senior living. Doesn't feel like home here, even though it's pretty nice. It just doesn't live up to the warmth we were promised when we decided to move in.

"Too expensive for what they offer"
My wife visited Wellbrooke of Avon and was not impressed. The cost was extremely high compared to other places and what they provided.

"Happy Home!"
My mom just moved here, and we're happy with it. The workers take good care of her and make sure she's comfy. They keep me updated on how she's doing. She likes the food and enjoys being social.

"Great place, but a bit pricey!"
The Legend at Capital Ridge was a really nice place. We liked it a lot, but it was quite expensive. It felt very open, and touring it was a good experience.

"Positive Steps at New Home"
My brother in law is getting used to his new home, and we’re okay with his choice to live here. It’s a friendly place with nice folks around. The people who work here are super nice and they keep the place looking good and clean. My brother in law isn’t up for joining in on activities, but they have some for people who want to. The food’s really good here. He’s happy with it and he’s eating a lot. Everything seems to be going well for us in this place.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Clean Rooms and Decent Meals!"
My family chose this company because it's budget-friendly. The bathrooms in the bedrooms are a good size, and the housekeeping keeps my dad's apartment clean. He sometimes complains about the meals, but mostly he likes them. I'd suggest this place to anyone looking for a great option for themselves or a loved one.

"Adjusting to assisted living; some communication and menu issues."
The move into Legend at Capital Ridge was okay and my dad is still getting used to it. However, we've had some problems with how the staff talk to each other. When you ask them something, they have to check with someone else, and sometimes it takes a whole day to get an answer. I think this might be because the people in charge are too involved. Like, when my dad wanted to take his dog to get shots, they had to check if they could help him. The food is mostly good, but there have been a few problems with the menu and what the residents can choose to eat. The community is slow at making changes based on what the residents ask for. Overall, things are getting better though.

"Four Stars"
They take good care of my mom, but the building layout needs improvement. It's quite a trek for those in the back. Also, they charge for hanging pictures or decorating.

"Great Place for Mom’s Care"
We had to make a tough choice after the doctors at the senior diagnostic center said Mom shouldn’t go home because of her dementia. I had been working with a counselor from A Place for Mom, and she helped me decide. For the past month, Legend has been helping Mom settle in. It’s been a positive experience.
