"Great Executive Director and Unique Cottage Living"
The executive director is awesome and really caring. I chose this place because it was the only one around with cottage living.

"Lovely Apartments with Limited Independent Living Care"
I liked Park Meadows when I visited. But now I see they didn't provide the same care for independent living as does. The apartments were nice, especially those on the first floor with outside access.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facility"
I would tell a friend it's nice but needs a buddy system and better clarity on responsibilities. The sales team did well, but after moving in, it felt a bit distant. It's not clear who to ask about things other than activities. Church services aren't on the activities list, which should be fixed. A buddy system would really help here. My mother-in-law feels isolated with no one nearby. The extra cost for meals is bothersome. Mom has probably gained weight since moving in, eating lunch and dinner there. She's learning to ask for other options, but the initial meal selection wasn't explained. Guest bathrooms need more frequent cleaning. Housekeeping in the apartment is good, and other residents are friendly. It's unclear who handles different issues like TV channels, housekeeping, family dinners, and use of the outside grill. Having mentors or buddies assigned would be helpful. Mom and I are still figuring out the routine. During Mom's first weekend, her air conditioner didn't work. It was 86 degrees in her apartment until Monday when maintenance replaced the unit. I texted the salesperson, but wasn't sure who else to contact. The executive director apologized on Monday, but the response time disappointed me. Mom has noticed that sometimes meals listed are not available, and it takes 2 to 3 days to return to normal service. The community really needs someone to help residents get to activities. Mom hasn't attended any because she doesn't know her way around. She only goes to meals. I've suggested coloring and puzzles to keep her engaged. The apartment itself is beautiful, but the price seems a bit high compared to others in the area. Things are improving, but I'm still not satisfied with knowing who does what.

"Park Meadows Failed to Adequately Care for Dementia Patient"
The employees at this assisted living facility seemed to be really overwhelmed with work. My family and I hardly interacted with them because they asked us to hire a helper from an agency to spend the days with our dad, since they didn't have enough people to properly care for him. The woman who managed the activities did a decent job trying to keep the residents entertained and always had things planned. But the staff didn't seem to know how to handle people with memory problems. The place should definitely check out residents more thoroughly before they let them move in. Just two days after our dad was admitted, they told us he needed more care than they could give, although they had said it would only be until he got used to the place. This situation was really upsetting for our dad and for us too. I don't think our family would advise this Memory Care center for others dealing with memory problems. Five weeks after our dad moved into Park Meadows Senior Living, they asked him to leave. He doesn't live there anymore.

"Corporation Takes Advantage of Elderly Man with Hidden Non-Refundable Fee"
We moved our 92-year-old dad to Parks Meadow, paying his rent in advance as suggested. Sadly, he fell sick soon and passed away after staying only for 3 and a half weeks. He signed up for a "one time non-refundable" Community Fee that was buried on page 40 of a 52-page lease and was supposed to lower his rent. Despite his short stay and not using any facilities, Parks Meadow wouldn't return any of the Community Fee. When our family asked for help, the business officer only said "it's out of my hands" and "I completely understand." It feels like our elderly dad was duped with a long lease by an uncaring company.

"Neglected and Unsafe: Staff Shortages and Poor Care Reported"
My mom stayed there for four years, but we were forced to take her out because of poor care. It seemed like there were no staff members ever present, no housekeeping activities, and nobody responded to call light signals. We found out that no outside agencies were allowed within the facility and even the most senior nursing and caregiving personnel were leaving. We had no choice but to move her out to ensure her safety.

"Bad Billing, Communication at Park Meadows; Excellent Staff"
I tried so hard with many different front desk staff (they quit often) for more than a year to get the right bills and insurance forms - we finally moved my parent somewhere else. Because Park Meadows couldn't fill out a simple form, we paid for several months that our Longterm Health Care Insurance could have handled...but Park Meadows didn't do their part. They never answer emails or phone calls. They say their new computer systems are the reason they can't do their work. The past directors didn't tell us about raising prices or changes in billing, and so on. I had to call their main office to get the final correct bill. The one good thing was the nurses and their helpers. They were great. My parent is at a new place now, and everyone is happy. The paperwork gets done right, and the staff communicate on time. I wouldn't suggest Park Meadows.

"Not worth the price"
This was a great senior living establishment before the new management took over in January of 2018. The management at Spectrum‘s, Park Meadows is totally non-responsive. Every department has deteriorated: food service, kitchen and dining room, etc.. Residents have commented, offered suggestions, and complained throughout the year but nothing was done. Management has ignored all ideas. Meanwhile, prices have continued to increase while quality has decreased. I made a lot of friends here, and the residents are wonderful, but no one deserves to be treated this way.

There is a bistro and a dining room that is open from seven in the morning to seven in the afternoon. Lots of planned activities including a happy hour every Friday afternoon with an open bar and live music. Basic 81-channel cable TV, and all utilities apart from a phone are included. The staff loves the residents and they are very friendly. Those that live here are very happy. The food is great, and many choices are offered. Lots of transportation opportunities with no extra charge. They give the residents one of those emergency buttons as a necklace or bracelet as a part of the rent. They are negotiable on the community fee. My mom was very impressed with everything, and I was too, she'll be living here soon! :)

"Decent Care Despite Lackluster Food and Limited Activities"
My husband is pretty happy at this place. The people are nice and it seems like the staff does care about him. He feels like he's getting good care even with the food not being the best. There aren't many activities going on here. And even when there are some, not many folks show up. I'd say this place is okay for folks who are not looking for lots of things to do.

I visited Park Meadows to find a place for my dad. They are super friendly and easy to work with. The staff is awesome and really knows their stuff. I will definitely move my parent there when it's time and recommend checking out Park Meadows for your loved one.

"Nursing Staff Uncompromising and Unyielding in Discussion"
My dad stayed at this place briefly and we weren't happy at all with the nurses. I work in healthcare and know how dad's meds should be taken. I tried to discuss with the nurses there and they insisted on doing it their way. I didn't agree and when I voiced my disagreement, they acted standoffish and wouldn't budge. We moved him somewhere else due to that. I don't think you should bring your loved one here.

We really like this place and think we made the right choice. Our apartment is big enough for both of us. They have awesome amenities and the staff always help with extra stuff like balloons for our anniversary. We enjoy the activities and plan to join more, we're always busy. Happy Hour on Friday evenings is a blast. They recently had an eclipse party and always plan fun events for us.

"Good choice with some drawbacks"
The building and fixtures are impressive. The dining area being open is a plus, but the service is slow. I wish the architect had installed central air instead of window-style units. Parking is limited for residents. Overall, we’re happy with our choice here.

"Pretty but Poor Park Meadows: Unreliable Executive, Inadequate Care"
Park Meadows does look nice and clean, but that's all it has going for it. The head lady, who's way too young, never seems to be around and can't be trusted. She even puts up stuff on Facebook that she shouldn't. The care they give isn't good enough, and they do the same things over and over. This is my opinion for their independent, assisted, and memory care. I wouldn't want my family to stay there.

"Average Experience, Hoping for Improvement"
This critique is mainly for Memory Care. Luckily, there's a new management team coming in soon (March 2017). We're hoping this will fix the issues with poor communication, medical care, and lack of staff enthusiasm. Most of the helpers are kind and competent, but the problem lies with the management. It seems like they're not following the company rules. The food is just so-so. The activities are alright. But when it comes to communication, especially about medical matters and medication, it's really challenging.

"Wonderful and Caring Place"
My first week here has been amazing! We've checked out three places, and this one is the best by far! The people are so kind and gentle. The place is really pretty too. At our last place, they over-medicated my mom, and she got really sick, even worse than my dad's Alzheimer's. But here at Park Meadows, they are very careful with meds if you use their wonderful, cautious doctor!

"Mixed Experience at Park Meadows Senior Living"
I really like Park Meadows Senior Living. Compared to other places I've seen, it's one of the best. Most of the staff are really nice, but some aren't. The director of memory care is great – always friendly and ready to help. However, some cooks have trouble with vegan options. My loved one and I have faced discrimination from a few residents and staff because of our race. It's gotten better, but it still happens sometimes, and it's not fun.

I believe my mom might prefer the menu at this place. It didn’t feel as welcoming as Villa Vent, which has been around longer. Even though it’s a newer facility, it lacks that cozy small-town vibe. The meals work on a point system, but I’m not sure if my mom would understand it right away.
