"Large Facility, Lacks Personalized Care"
We checked out Sunrise of Overland Park. It seemed too big for my loved one. Lots of people were around, and I felt she wouldn't like that. I also doubted she'd receive the individual attention she requires.

"Professional and Welcoming Assisted Living, Recommended with Billing Improvements"
We chose this assisted living community because of the friendly staff and positive reviews. Talking to others who had loved ones here confirmed our decision. They were professional and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, which made it a better fit for my loved one. However, we've had some issues with the billing process. It would be helpful if they improved their billing system and followed up with phone calls. Despite this, I would recommend this place to other families.

"Spacious Rooms and Affordable Costs - Satisfactory Assisted Living Experience"
We chose this community for its spacious rooms and affordability. I've been happy with everything. I recommend exploring multiple communities as prices vary.

"Great Tour, Perfect for Future Needs"
We took a tour of this place and it was really nice. It was one of our top choices, but our loved one wasn’t ready for assisted living yet. Sunrise will be a great place to start if they need more help in the future.

"Sunrise Denies Care After Tough Questions"
While looking for a new place for my mom, I asked Sunrise some tough questions about how they take care of residents. I wanted to know if they'd treat her well, especially after her bad experiences at her old community. But instead of answering, they accused me of being angry. Thankfully, they denied my mom in the end.

"Can't Check Cleanliness Due to Covid and Rates Keep Rising"
We can't see how clean the place is because of Covid rules, and they keep raising the prices.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
Pretty nice. We did a virtual tour, so no 'sniff' test, but we could check out the outside and peek through the windows. I just didn't feel like my Mom would be happy here. Can't really explain why, but it didn't seem like a good match.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience, Room for Improvement"
When we moved in, billing issues and surprise charges arose. The room rate was higher than agreed, and extra care charges were unexpected. They charged for meds he wasn't informed about. He ended up in the priciest care level, prompting our move. Communication struggles arose; we needed privacy for family discussions but had to request it twice. Daily visits brought new problems, like the inability to get correctly sized briefs. They compensated us, though. The food's decent but not always as listed. Cleaning his bathroom seems neglected. We had to buy an expensive bed accessory that proved uncomfortable. Now, they limit showers due to medication level.
