"Terribly Neglectful Assisted Living Facility Experience"

I was stuck in bed, but had to figure out how to get to the bathroom on my own or else I'd wet myself. The nurse left me hurting for two hours because she said she was at lunch and doing a personal chore. The occupational therapist didn't bother reading my medical history and ended up accusing me of being dishonest about my asthma or lying about serving in the military. I suffer from both asthma and breast cancer due to the burn pit exposure I experienced during my service. As soon as my home access ramp was completed, I left even though I could have stayed for another two weeks free of charge. I had an ankle surgery where a plate and 13 screws were installed. Not a single nurse checked my bandages and they wouldn't help me readjust my boot. If there had been an issue with the surgical cut, no one would have known until my doctor's visit once a week. In the end, I had to take off the boot myself so they could help put it back on. The whole experience was just way too absurd.

"Some extra costs, but overall recommendable."

My sister and I were looking for a good place for our mom, and we found Via Christi. It felt right from the start. The staff treats residents well, communicates effectively, and knows their stuff. Mom isn’t a fan of the food, but that’s personal preference. The facility is clean, but there are extra charges for some services. Overall, I’d recommend them.
