"Top Choice for Elderly Care: Vintage Park at Stanley Assisted Living"
Our family's experience with Vintage Park at Stanley has been excellent. We highly recommend this community to other families who are searching for a place for their elderly loved ones. The food is also really good! The director was very kind to Mom and us.

"Family Concerns Over Access Limitations at Vintage Park Assisted Living"
I visited Vintage Park at Stanley and found the location acceptable. The available room required stair access, which wouldn't work for my loved one during emergencies. We needed a ground-floor room, so Vintage Park wasn't suitable.

"Great Care with Some Room for Improvement"
**** My mom moved in on [date removed] and had a bit of an adjustment period. She chose this place because it has a range of ages and met all our family's needs for activities and security. It's also in a very nice area. Mom went to exercise class every day, and they call to remind you to come to meals. Mom did complain that the new director shortened the exercise routine and seemed to prefer planning activities outside the facility, which left fewer options for those who stay in. I feel that patients with dementia are given too much freedom with their rights. We had trouble with the morning staff putting on her support hose, and the "dementia diet" of sandwiches, hamburgers, and french fries was often served instead of meals with meat and vegetables. It took a while to convince them that she would eat the healthier meal if given the choice. They finally started asking her if she wanted the healthy meal instead of junk food. [Name removed] was great with my mom, making sure she always had her supplements, and we never had a problem with medication during any shift (as far as I know). The director is good at working with the family and the nursing staff. [Name removed] was my mom's favorite nurse. There were issues with weekend staffing and personal care duties, like taking out residents' trash, and proper meals were sometimes a problem, which caused cleanliness issues for those with incontinence. I have to say that the nursing staff is excellent, with [name removed] saving my mom's life. All the nurses have been with Vintage Park for at least two years. My mom had a major stroke, and the evening nurse called me right after she called the ambulance. Because [name removed] checked on my mom early in the evening, she caught the stroke right away, and the TPA was administered at St. Luke's South, dissolving the clot before she reached St. Luke's Plaza. I believe that interviewing the employees, director, and random residents as you tour the facility is key to finding a good placement. I also believe that I wouldn't have been able to find a place for my mom as soon as I did without the help of [name removed] from A Place For Mom. "A Fine Community"
My dad's in the hospital, but this place is nice. Staff are friendly and meals are good. Could use more activities. Cleanliness is good. Overall, I'd recommend it.
