Atria Elizabethtown

"Friendly Staff and Comfortable Atmosphere"
We picked Atria Elizabethtown because my dad stayed here and we really liked the friendly staff—they took great care of him. They had an available room when we needed it. The room sizes are decent; my mom started in a studio and now has a 1-bedroom overlooking the lake and garden. The best thing about this place is the staff—they make it feel like home.

"Advocates Cash Over Care: Shockingly Poor Dementia Support"
Alright, first things first, it was my dad, not my mom, who stayed at your facility. You clearly lack the expertise needed to care for people battling dementia. Seems like your place is more interested in cashing checks than providing care. I'm unclear about why my dad was kicked out, since your reports mention his memory troubles - something you're supposed to take care of - as the reason. And here's the kicker - when we let go of the director's husband who was the realtor selling my dad's house, suddenly my dad became hard to handle. I'd been to your place multiple times and saw that unless we forked over extra money for trips (on top of the $5000 monthly fee), there were barely any activities for him. I'm not recommending this place to anyone. What you need is a professional staff who understands dementia and has been trained to deal with memory loss. The final straw was when you demanded we get a nighttime babysitter for my dad. Ever heard of sundowning? I couldn't believe it! There and then, it became clear to me that you're just clueless folks running a business to squeeze seniors out of every penny they have.
