"Helpful caregivers and good meals at Bluegrass Assisted Living."
I saw caregivers at Bluegrass Assisted Living help my relative more than at other places. The meals were rated a 4, and I did see some really good ones. Based on our experience, I would recommend Bluegrass Assisted Living to other families.

"Affordable Assisted Living with Respectful Staff"
Bluegrass Assisted Living in Bardstown, KY is the most affordable community for seniors. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment is clean and well-maintained. The staff, including the director, is knowledgeable, kind, and respectful to residents. While the facility grounds could use some landscaping improvements, the reasonable price reflects the limited activities available.

"Unbearable Stench Upon Entry to Assisted Living Facility"
The moment I walked in the front door, I was hit with a nasty smell of pee and poop. This strong stink was all over the shared area too. The people living there looked alright, but the terrible smell during my visit is all I can comment on.

"Smaller, Affordable Assisted Living with Okay Care"
My family member stayed here for a few months. The only issue was frequent staff changes and lower-quality food, like too many hot dogs. It's a smaller, more affordable community, and overall, it was okay with no care complaints.

"Felt like family, amazing staff, compassionate care"
My husband and I stayed for a little over a week and felt right at home. The staff were amazing! When we left, we actually cried because it was so hard to leave the girls. They were some of the most compassionate and caring people we've ever met! Shannon was great! She even helped with my husband when I couldn't be there. Dallas passed away on October 26th at home, just like he wanted, and I am so grateful for those girls! Thanks again for all your care and concern! When no other facility would take my husband, Bluegrass welcomed us and treated us like family!

Unhappy with being put in a ro
"Mixed experience at Bluegrass Assisted Living, lacking proper evaluation."
My dad's time at Bluegrass wasn't planned well. They didn't check him properly before letting him in. We had to rush to buy furniture just for him. And since he wasn't checked right, they said we had to leave within 48 hours. They stretched it out a bit, but we still had to get a 24-hour sitter and pay extra living expenses. It was really hard moving him and then having to take him back home. The staff were nice, and the place was clean, but if they had refused him because of the evaluation, we could have been better prepared and gone somewhere else. Several people have told me now that they were just after money. It's okay if you just need a place for an elderly person who needs basic help. Also, there was one staff member who didn't want to move from her chair and grumbled when asked for help, but the others were happy to assist.

"Unhappy visit and Bad Smell at Bluegrass"
We really didn't like Bluegrass. The minute we stepped inside, there was a pretty bad smell in the building. It was our last visit of the day, and it was far from ideal – way worse than we expected. We're absolutely not choosing Bluegrass.
