"Horror Experience at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility: Neglect and Mismanagement"
The University of Louisville Hospital PT care manager wrongfully suggested this assisted living facility. It was a massive error. My loved one's cancer doctor insisted they be transferred. Brookdale, the facility, set him up in a room without any bed. We were forced to rent one. They didn't feed him. He was completely blind. His health rapidly deteriorated and unfortunately, he never improved. He passed away. While they did give us a partial refund, it wasn't the whole amount. They should be held accountable by the state nursing home department. It was an absolute disaster.

"Decent but Dated Atmosphere"
I visited this community, and it was decent. The atmosphere didn't feel very welcoming; it seemed a bit outdated.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Moving your loved one in is the only way to find out how things will turn out. The community fee was a surprise, and the food menu lacks variety. My father's biggest complaint is that staff members have master keys and don't knock.

"Safe, clean place with minor food and mass concerns"
I feel like my loved one is in a safe, clean place. They would let us know if there were any problems. He seems very happy and has made a lot of friends, according to the staff. They are honest and quick to address any issues, whether it's about maintenance, dining, or anything else. He only has a couple of complaints. First, the food isn't as good as home cooking—it tastes more institutional and less flavorful. However, he can choose other options if he doesn't like what's on the daily menu. We talked to the management, and they want him to be happy and said they will try to make it better. Second, he wishes there was a more involved Catholic mass. They have a weekly Catholic service, but it's more of a small service than a full mass. On the plus side, he likes the location. It’s in a quiet, wooded area away from the street. The cost seems fair, and we got a special deal that helped lower the price. They also offer different promotions from time to time.

"Gross Neglect and Lies at Adult Care Facility"
I wouldn't suggest this place. We thought it was suitable for Mom initially, but quickly we uncovered the truth. Dishonesty and inconsistencies were prevalent. We spent money for daily medication, yet we noticed days were missed, sometimes consecutively. Their promise was to aid in hygiene and dressing amidst the pandemic, but we soon found they had ignored her necessities, and had been dishonest to us. After she was rushed to the emergency room, we discovered that she had a black eye and feces adhering to her skin. This indicated gross negligence since they just left her lying in her own waste. A two-month supply of Depends that we had bought and delivered was untouched. Her toe nails had grown so long that they curved into her adjacent toes. She had shed 20 pounds and shrieked any time someone made contact with her. From that moment, she never regained her cognitive abilities and sadly passed away soon after. Brookdale confessed to bathing her before calling an ambulance due to pneumonia. We suspect this was an attempt to cover up the neglect and waste remaining on her skin.

"Clean and Comfortable Living!"
My dad just moved into this place, and everything seems good so far. The staff is friendly, and I feel comfortable with the care he’s getting. The property is clean, and they offer lots of amenities for residents. Overall, it’s a great fit, and I’d recommend it.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Dad enjoys the company of fellow veterans, adjusting to community life. Food critique aside, he appreciates communal dining and never misses meals. Staff is friendly but struggles with family communication. Medical and therapy coordination lacks transparency. The facility is safe with diverse activities, though expectations were lofty.

"Adjusting to Community Life: Mixed Feelings in Assisted Living"
My dad's really happy that there are many other veterans at the place. It's taking him a while to get used to being around so many people after living alone for eight years. He doesn't really like the food, but he enjoys going to the dining room, and he always makes sure he eats. The staff is nice and helpful, but sometimes it's hard for our family to talk with them, and they don't have meetings to plan my dad's care. It's confusing when it comes to arranging outside medical appointments and therapies like physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The place is safe and has lots of fun things to do, but maybe we expected too much at first. Still, our family is hopeful things will get better.

"Clean place, friendly staff, but might be costly."
The management staff has been there since they opened 4.5 years ago. The place looked clean. The residents interacted pleasantly with [name] during the FaceTime tour. They offer respite care, so we could move my father in before his belongings. However, depending on his care needs, it might be too expensive.

"Comfortable Community with Kind Staff and Clean Surroundings"
I'm doing good since I moved here. It's a nice place with friendly folks. Whenever I need help, the staff is always there, and they're really nice. The place is always clean, and they take good care of it. There's a cool shady spot outside, and you can hang out there whenever you want. Overall, I'm having a good time here, and I'd tell my family and friends about it.

"A Distasteful Assisted Living Facility Ruled by Money and Rudeness"
This assisted living facility is just awful. They can't seem to hold on to their staff – there's always a shortage. The food is the worst I've ever tasted. And the activities? So dull and too kiddish. On top of that, the residents are not even nice. You would expect a place like this to function like an assisted living home, but it feels more like a nursing home instead. It seems like all they care about is making their money, and not about the residents, has no respect for the people living here. Whenever we try to speak to her, she's always so abrasive. Our family members have also found her to be really rude and patronizing. From what I've overheard, the workers say she's very harsh and meddles too much.

"Unresolved Issue Led to Disappointment with Brookdale"
At first, everything with Brookdale seemed great. But a problem came up and we just couldn't figure out a solution. Honestly, I wasn't happy at all. It felt like they didn't care about our feelings or our side of the issue, only their own. So I can't rate Brookdale as positively as I'd hoped I could. It felt like money mattered to them more than the person, same as most big businesses.

"Conflicts with Management, Won't Return to Brookdale"
In my opinion, Brookdale is generally fine despite having collided with the management over a specific problem, which they refused to negotiate with us on. That's why we wouldn't return there.

"Mom's Place at Brookdale"
Mom has been at Brookdale Stonestreet Road for a week, and so far, it's been good. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The meals are wonderful, and I've eaten there a couple of times. She's in the high-level care unit until she gets better. Her room is big and spotless. It has a small kitchen, dining area, her sofa, and her twin bed with a chest and dresser. We can come and go anytime, and there's security. We're pleased so far.

"Mostly good with quick fixes"
It's been mostly good. There have been a few issues, but they fixed them right away. She really likes the food and loves the entertainment. I like that they have transportation to doctor appointments, take you shopping, and have people coming in. She has made some friends and is adjusting better than we expected.

"Mixed Feelings at Maplewood Assisted Living"
The person in charge of activities is really friendly and caring towards everyone living here. However, some other staff members don't always know what they're doing. Right now, the place is a bit chaotic because of remodeling, but it's understandable. Once it's done, it'll be much nicer. The food they serve is okay, nothing too special. But my mom seems content, and that's what's most important to me.

"UNTRUSTWORTHY MANAGEMENT AND NO ASSISTANCE"
This place has awful food; anyone seems to be allowed to cook. They're dealing with serious bug issues. Even though it's supposed to be assisted living, there's little to no assistance given. Management lacks greatly in proficiency. We're missing them; she was exceptional. Unfortunately, Paula can't be trusted. Elmcroft is a significantly superior option.

"Infested Space with Rude Management and Lousy Care"
This terrible place is a breeding ground for bed bugs. They've had an infestation for more than a year. The director, is extremely disrespectful. She'll make big promises until you get settled in. After that, your loved one won't receive proper care. Despite their pleasant show, don't trust them.

"Inconsistent Management and Slow Communication in Assisted Living Facility"
I can't really say much about the activities here. Sometimes the people in charge don't do things the same way all the time. Honestly, I don't think they pay attention to what they promise or do. We have someone to help our family member because they feel lonely. I tried to contact Paula, but it took more than 48 hours for her to reply. They don't always do what they say they will.

"Unprofessional Management and Poor Services at Assisted Living Facility"
I wouldn't suggest picking this place. They never made any effort to include my family member in activities, making it tough for her to develop friendships. Unexpectedly, they raised the prices. The food quality was disappointing. If there was no chef, the aides had to step in and handle the cooking. In the beginning, the service wasn't too bad, but over time it deteriorated. There were definitely issues with the management team, and things ultimately became quite unprofessional.
