"Facility Fails to Meet Dementia Patient’s Needs"
My mom is staying at this place right now, and it’s not going great. Their website says they have rides for people, but that’s not true. My mom can’t remember things well, and nobody keeps an eye on her. One day, a worker gave her a smoke, even though she stopped smoking and had a patch on. It was super cold, like 19 degrees, and she fell off the porch, like 10 feet down onto the hard ground. No one was watching her when it happened. They didn’t even call for an ambulance to check her out. They just called me, put her in bed, and waited for me to drive 2 and a half hours to take her to the hospital. I guess the place is okay. It’s clean, and it seems like it’s run okay. The other people living there look pretty happy. But it’s not right for my mom. They have nice people working there who are sweet to my mom, but they just don’t know how to take care of someone who forgets things a lot.
