"Affordable and Friendly Assisted Living with Community Activities"
I really liked living there. Everyone was nice and friendly. But I had to leave because I couldn’t afford it anymore. I liked going to the dining room for my meals. Singing together was fun too. I also enjoyed the seminar about the Fruits of the Spirit and the craft fair in the Falk.

We visited Richmond Place while looking for a place for our family member to live independently. It was alright. The person who showed us around was really nice. The place seemed clean and had a good atmosphere.

"Frustrated Over Poor Service at Richmond Place Assisted Living"
I just can't understand what's happening at Richmond Place. I'm tired of my mom having to call me each weekend to bring food because the service there is terrible. She's paying thousands each month, yet the food she gets is cold and bland, and it takes over 45 minutes because they're short-staffed! It's crazy that I have to drive an hour into Lexington to bring my mom food. I don't know what's happening to this place. The community's owners need to take action, as the facility is starting to be a joke.

"Disappointed by Rent Increase at Richmond Place Assisted Living"
We really liked Richmond Place overall. It fit Mom's budget at first, but after a few months, they raised the rent a lot. Now she has to move before even a year. We were hoping she could stay longer! I get why they had to raise rent - everything costs more now. I just wish they did it slower and gave her more time to adjust.

"Mixed experience with food service otherwise, recommend Senior Living Community"
My father lived in this facility until he couldn't live on his own anymore. His apartment was nice, and the cleaning service was excellent. About a year after moving in, he started using Personalized Services for his dinners. Sometimes, the person who brought his food made sure everything was right and would fix mistakes. Other times, they just dropped off the food and left, which wasn't very helpful. Once, I asked someone to go back for a missing item, and they said it wasn't their job. During Covid, though, the staff did a great job with all the meals. Overall, I would suggest this place for seniors to live.

"Overwhelming Care in Tiny Space"
This place gives too much care, I guess. Having three meals a day and a tiny 750-square-foot two-bedroom apartment feels overwhelming. I think I'd prefer a retirement community with less structure.

"Poor Management and Little Activities at Assisted Living Facility"
I'd say it's pretty, but man, they don't manage it well. Can't get a single thing sorted out. If anything breaks, you're waiting a month before they even look at it. Plus, they hardly try to keep residents busy or engaged in activities. The guy living above ended up being too noisy, and my loved one couldn't get any sleep. All in all, it wasn't a good experience.

"Good Activities, Poor Communication"
I would rate everything higher, except they never return calls. I had questions about the first statement but never got a call back. After waiting 3 days, I went there in person to talk with their financial person. Now, I've been waiting almost 2 days for a call back because I need to change my mother's meal plan! When I was there, I asked to speak with someone about changing the meal plan, but they couldn't find anyone for me to talk to. They said they would have the responsible person call me, but I still haven't heard from anyone. This seems to be how they operate. They do a good job with activities and taking care of the facility; it's clean. But I wouldn't recommend them at this point.

"STAY AWAY"
I had a meeting with and it felt like I was dealing with a pushy used car salesperson. She was very rude and didn't bother to understand my mom's actual needs. She was attempting to place my mom in independent living while she clearly required assisted living! Ultimately, I moved my mom to Highgrove, and I'm confident I made the right choice.

"Excellent Assisted Living Community with Friendly Staff"
Beautiful green space near area. The large community offers various floor plans. While the apartments have updated kitchens, some are dated and need repairs (notably, there's significant water damage to the ground floor patio entry). The transportation service for non-drivers is excellent, available seven days a week, was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and great with follow-up.

"Nice Community, Not Right for Us"
We had a nice tour of this community. Everyone was kind to my family and me. The place looked really nice, and the staff we met were friendly and answered our questions. My concern was the layout; it might confuse my aunt. Overall, it was a good experience, but not the right fit for her needs.

I wasn’t super impressed with the rooms at this assisted living facility. They had curtains around the beds, kind of like a hospital. But there was one good thing: I really liked how they set up the cafeteria. During our tour, we had lunch there, and it was really tasty.

"Review: Assisted Living Facility Offers Large Rooms but Lacks Security"
Good Points: The rooms are big and comfortable. The residents I saw seemed content. Negative Points: The person guiding me seemed annoyed when the residents tried to speak with her. There's no security near the entrance at night, so it's possible for a resident who requires assisted living to leave unnoted unless they are kept in the memory care unit. They don't routinely check how many residents are present in the assisted living section. The facility has several levels and you need to use an elevator to get to places like the recreational areas. Also, the dining area feels more like a hospital than a home.

"First Impressions"
We’ve only been at Brookdale/Richmond Place for four days, and it’s been amazing so far. The Sales/Marketing person welcomed us, helped with our move, and even provided breakfast. The Move-In Coordinator promptly scheduled repairs and gave us a lovely basket of goodies. Although we haven’t joined many activities yet, the friendly staff has made us feel at home. Our apartment overlooking the courtyard is beautiful, and we’re happy with our choice.

"Troubling Experience at Brookdale Clare Bridge Lexington"
For 10 months, my mom seemed mostly okay at Brookdale's Clare Bridge Lexington. She'd gotten used to her surroundings and the people who looked after her. But recently, something happened. My mom was involved in a situation which involved some touching that she wasn't comfortable with. She told us she didn't feel like she fit in and wanted to be removed from the situation. Our family talked with the folks running Clare Bridge. We wanted assurance that my mom wouldn't have to deal with that situation again. At first, they seemed to agree. But a week later, they called us back and said they couldn't promise my mom would be safe from a similar situation because of patient rights. At that point, we felt we had to move mom to a new place right then and there. We're not happy with how Clare Bridge handled things. Following this, my mom got really sick—throwing up, diarrhoea, and a nasty chest infection—all within a month. We think that her situation at Clare Bridge contributed to her getting sick. Here's something really weird: They lock up the soap at Clare Bridge. They said it's because some patients might eat it. But a lot of times, the staff isn't with the patients when they go to the bathroom. We once saw someone using the bathroom on a carpet in someone else's room. A staff member cleaned it up, only to leave us wondering how clean that carpet actually was. And here's the thing about patient rights. If my mom's in a place where she needs to rely on other people to manage her care and money, and she spends all her time in a locked facility where strangers help her with things like bathing, how can we say she really has rights? My mom exercised her rights by saying she wasn't comfortable at Clare Bridge. She wanted to leave. But when we tried to raise these points with management, we never got anywhere. Then, when we were finally able to move mom, Clare Bridge charged us another $5500 because we hadn't given them advance notice. I mean, we were so desperate to get mom out of there, we just needed to move fast. In short, we're not happy with Clare Bridge. They often didn't even remember to give mom her milk, which she loves. Once, she felt sick, and we had to go to main building to get a Sprite for her. The place seems understaffed and we always had to wait a while to leave the building because the front door was always locked and there were not enough staff on duty. Turnover seems high too, with staff leaving frequently. Take a look online and you'll find other negative reviews from people who've had loved ones at Clare Bridge. Also, the company's financial standing is something to ponder over. Lastly, I hope the managers of Clare Bridge really consider what they'd want for their own loved ones if they ever needed to stay at a facility like this. It's certainly worth a thought.

"Extremely Disappointed with Lack of Suitable Bathing Facilities"
I told the staff I'm a big woman and required a handicap-accessible tub even before arriving. However, once I got here, I discovered there's no tub for my size. I'm really disappointed and even being charged for a bath. I've raised this issue but haven't received a resolution. They simply suggested I could pay for a new tub myself.

"Limited Private Rooms, Worn Carpet, Good Activities for Residents"
This place is kinda old and doesn't have many rooms for people to be by themselves. They have a cool patio and screened porch though. They do fun stuff for the folks living there. But the carpet's kinda old and dirty in some spots. You might be able to bring your pet, but you can't get a private room here because they're all taken.

"Unfulfilled Promises: A Disappointing Experience at Richmond Place"
The people who convinced us to move in were nice, but when we needed real help, things got tough. We had to move to more expensive care twice in just nine months. The sales staff promised lots of help and flexibility, but we didn't get any of it. After ten months, we're stuck with no guidance from Richmond Place except "find somewhere else for your mom." What can we do now?

"Great value and excellent care at Richmond Place!"
I think Richmond Place is great. It’s a good value. I haven’t joined many activities because my husband is sick, but many residents do. The food is excellent! It’s independent living, but you can get care if needed. Many people have caregivers, and the care looks very nice. My husband received physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Richmond Place has its own home health agency, but I needed a referral from our doctor first. They connect with the doctor and help manage things. Recently, I’ve had some issues, but they’ve been professional and friendly. Many residents use walkers or motorized vehicles like my husband. I’ve heard it’s the best place in town.
