The staff here is always friendly and reliable. They plan activities every week to keep residents active, both here and outside. They also organize celebrations to involve families. They offer a support group for families, too. Sometimes, though, they don't have enough staff.

We like the staff the most—everyone is very helpful and kind. Sometimes, the food selection is the same for several days. I think they could offer more activity options, but overall, we are very satisfied.

"Horrifying Experience at Assisted Living, Mom Came Back Bruised"
The assisted living place was awful. Stuff in the rooms was broken and they didn't fix it. They also put busted-up things in the bedroom closets, which isn't safe. They even asked me when I was going to visit my mom because it was kind of a bother for them. They didn't know how to help new residents who were a bit scared and grumpy. I'm not really sure if the meals were okay. The activities didn't keep my mom busy enough. All in all, it was a horrible experience. My mom got there on Monday and by Thursday, they'd called the police on her and sent her to the hospital before I had a chance to visit. The hospital wouldn't let me see her and gave her drugs, then they sent her to a mental health facility. She came back home all bruised. It was a nightmare.

We've had a good experience for 2.5 years. Mom's happy. Issues resolved. Director change needed. Rooms could use refreshing.

"Inadequate Care and Limited Activities for Memory Unit Patients"
At the moment, my mom is in the memory care unit. She chose this place without understanding how different memory care is from the other parts of the facility. This unit is locked, which prevents patients from wandering. However, all the fun activities happen on the assisted living side, and they don't let the memory unit folks join in. The staff members are overworked and don't really know how to calm down people with dementia. Instead, they end up arguing and causing a fuss. I thought they'd have more knowledge about dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia, but it doesn't seem like it.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Nighttime Care"
The part where my dad stayed was pretty nice. People who worked there and the folks living there were really nice. But the group of staff taking care of him at night wasn’t enough. He needed more help than they could give. So, it didn’t work out.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities"
It's nice to have a community nearby with both assisted living and memory care units. The way services are provided seems different between the two. In assisted living, there are two patio areas with swings where residents can meet with family and other residents. In memory care, there's only one courtyard without grass but with plants. This could be difficult for memory care residents who enjoy being outdoors. Our family member is used to food cooked a certain way. Unfortunately, the food is never hot when they receive it. Also, the choices are limited, which is frustrating for our loved one.

Our time at Brookdale Lafayette was really nice. No problems, and they took great care of my family member. The people who work there were friendly and always ready to help. The food was tasty, and there were lots of things to do. Plus, the place was always clean.

My mom's doing really well here. I feel good about her living here. I see she's getting excellent care, and she's safe. The people who work here are awesome, they're looking after her and what she needs. Everything's been going great, and I'd say this place is really good.

My family member is doing okay since moving here. They get home health care and community support. The staff communicate well, and the food is good. I'd recommend this clean, well-maintained place.

"Pricey but Clean"
The place was super clean, but kinda expensive. They couldn't give my dad the care he required. Wish they had more for Alzheimer's patients. They should think about people's money situations. We gotta pay rent on top of other fees. It's really pricey. I wish it could've been more flexible.
