"Poor Memory Care and Decreased Quality After Worker Quit"
This assisted living place has a section for memory care, but they didn't really provide any special care for memory issues. They just fed my mom and parked her in front of the TV. She just stayed in bed most of the time. At first, it was alright because there was one worker who took good care of her. But then that worker quit, and my mom's care got way worse. I won't recommend this place to anyone.

"Mixed Feelings About Brookdale Mandeville"
I wasn't impressed with Brookdale Mandeville. It used to be a nursing home and was renovated. I didn't see many residents during my visit, just a few in a small common area. I only met one staff member, who gave me the tour.

"Friendly and Helpful Staff at Brookdale"
I've been at Brookdale for 7 months now. All the employees are friendly and easy to talk to. They always go out of their way to be helpful and pleasant. This is a great place to live.

"Brookdale's Senior Care Facility: Unhappy residents, poor environment"
A couple weeks back, we checked out Brookdale in Mandeville for Senior care. We chatted with some older folks living there and recently, spoke to some of their family members. Word on the street is, a lot of seniors aren't happy at all. They're feeling overlooked and fed up, with some saying they're receiving subpar compassionate care. Folks aren't pleased with the environment, describing it as uninspiring, dull, and chilly. They're griping about the mediocre grub and not getting much recreational action. It seems like not a lot's being done to keep them pumped up or engaged.

"Positive Experience Despite Staffing Challenges"
So far, everything has been good at the assisted living facility. It seems like they are losing staff, which might affect their staffing levels like many other places. However, the staff are really caring toward our loved one, and overall, it's a nice community. I would recommend this place to other families.

"Brookdale's Best Caregivers Quit, Residents Unhappy with Low Quality Service"
I wouldn't ever send a family member to Brookdale Assisted Living. We know seniors who live at the Mandeville, LA Brookdale and we chat with them regularly. They've been real unhappy and upset lately. The issue: their best, most kind, and loved caregivers up and left without warning! I hear the reason these excellent caregivers quit is because they were made to do jobs like cleaning, laundry, and other basic chores. Obviously, this takes away from looking after the residents. It's hard to find great caregivers, and it seems like Brookdale's owners don't know how to run their business in a smart way. After hearing all this, losing these great caretakers, who the residents really liked, I'd rather spend money for a private caregiver to stay with my family member at home, than pay a ton for bad quality at Brookdale.

"Brookdale Mandeville Fails Residents, Loses Top Caregivers"
A close friend's mom lives at Brookdale in Mandeville, LA, and we're really tight with her. We talk a lot and she's been telling us how Brookdale is losing a ton of their really good, kind-hearted caregivers. I don't think the bigshots at the company realize how vital it is to keep these top-notch workers. They don't pay them enough, or they just had a few good ones and now they're gone. The bosses also don't seem to get that the health and happiness of the people living there relies on these skilled caregivers. Since the good ones left Brookdale, the part-timers they have now are always late, offer lame service, and residents end up hurt or sick because they're not doing their job right. Brookdale used to be awesome but now they've lost all their great people and it's just the pits.

"Brookdale Assisted Living: Cleanliness and Homeliness Concerns"

"Overall positive, but inconsistent cleaning. Recommend for others."
We picked Brookdale Mandeville because it's close to our home, looks nice, and the apartment suits our needs. The only downside is inconsistent room cleaning. Still, I'd recommend it to others.

"Subpar Care and Terrible Food at Assisted Living Facility"
This place really went downhill while we were there.he of the staff members quit, so there wasn't any steady care. The food was so bad, you wouldn't even feed it to a pet. Like, one time they served ribs for dinner and my mom got two ribs that were totally burnt. She asked for something else but they said they ran out, so she didn't even get to eat dinner that night. I had to move her away from this place because she wasn't getting the good care she needed. I definitely wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Worst Experience, Complete Staff Ignorance"
This place has been nothing short of a nightmare. Right now, my dad's in the hospital's ICU. Ever since we moved him here, he's been falling a lot, but nobody working here wants to admit they messed up. His move was super bumpy and he just wasn't settling in right. Plus, they'd skip his baths and didn't respect his meal needs. It's been one big disaster ever since we decided to have dad live here.

"Unappealing Community, Memory Care Unit Too Far Back"
This place offers different types of care. The overall look of the community wasn't too impressive. It's a lot of small things that make a difference. The memory care unit was way at the back of the community. It didn't seem like the best match for my father-in-law.

"Tour this Assisted Living Community for Quality Care"
We liked the place and the people working there. It's an old community where they take care of loved ones. They have fun things to do. They gave us food. Families should visit here if they need care for a loved one. We wanted a newer place, but we still liked the helpful staff.

"Great Respite Care for My Husband"
The respite stay went well for my husband. He was in the Memory Care unit and seemed happy and healthy when I picked him up. The staff called me with updates about what he was doing, getting into, or if he tried to wander off. I would use them again for a respite stay.

"A Clean, Helpful Community for Mom's Care"
We visited this place to check for my mom's care. It's an older community and not exactly what we wanted in terms of atmosphere. But it's clean and the staff did answer our questions. We think it's a good choice for families looking for care for a loved one.

"Hoping for Better Communication"
This has been a huge adjustment for my mother and me. Our first contact with Brookdale Mandeville was okay. The nurse who evaluated my mom said she'd be fine in Assisted Living and didn't need memory care yet. I was skeptical, but I trusted her as the professional. Four days after moving in, my mom tried to escape, and they realized she did need memory care after all. This costs more, and I had to reach out to discuss the new rates. It feels like the management is overwhelmed and short-staffed. Despite all this, the place is nice and very clean. I'm hoping communication with management gets better over time. Fingers crossed!

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living, But He's Enjoying Activities"
The people there are really nice and they helped us move in. But some of the things they offer weren't that useful. I'm not sure if my loved one is getting all the care they promised. However, he enjoys the activities and says he's happy there, which is a relief.

"Great, caring staff who go above and beyond"
The staff truly cares and goes above and beyond for my mom. They treat her like a person, not just a number. They take the time to get to know her and what’s best for her. My mom was in a bad place before where she was just left in bed all day. Now, they make sure she stays social and active. I’m so glad I moved her to this new home away from home.

"Mixed Feelings but Overall Positive Experience"
This place is really good! The food is tasty, which surprised me. At first, things took a while to get done, but that's normal during transitions. The main problem for my family is that the front desk isn't always staffed. It'd be better if someone was there all day. The door stays open, so residents can wander outside. Also, if you have questions, you might wait 5 minutes for help. Despite these issues, we like it here. The only thing we'd change is having someone at the front desk all the time.

"Terrible facility, Better Options Nearby"
The place was pretty bad. There were these annoying smells, like chemicals, and everything was a mess. The cost was way too high especially for a room that didn't even have a kitchen. She, although she was busy, was really cool. She took us around even though she hadn't done it before. She suggested we try The Windsor down the street, which was really professional of her. She insisted she was there to help us, no matter where we decided to go. So we checked out The Windsor and it was great!
