"Great Support and Setup at This Assisted Living Facility"
So far, so good - we like it here. We've gotten a lot of great help with everything my mom is going through. I praise them for what they're trying to do. I like the size of their memory care and how the facility is set up for the residents. If you place your parent here or anywhere, I recommend adding a security camera in the room. It's really helpful and shows you all the things they are doing for your loved one, not just what they're not doing.

"Caring Place for Dad"
I’d recommend it to a friend. It suits my dad’s needs, especially since he’s not very social. They take good care of him without bothering our family too much, and he’s content there.

"Avoid Brookdale: Poor Living Conditions and Tricky Contracts!"
Brookdale feels like a jail. They stick your family member in a tiny room and don't let the people living there talk to each other. It's just a spot where old people are kept. I wouldn't tell you to send your family here. Please keep your family at your own home, don't put them in this awful place. The food is bad! I wish I was able to take my family member out of the Brookdale, but I can't because of the agreement with them. Once your family is there, it's like they are trapped. The moment they sign a Power of Attorney to Brookdale, you can't shift the contract without spending a lot of money on a new lawyer to change the Power of Attorney.

"Misleading Pricing and Billing Issues at Brookdale Shreveport"
Before COVID-19, they had bingo and other activities at the facility. They gave me a price for my loved one's care. However, they added more charges without explaining the extra costs clearly. Brookdale Shreveport said they could handle giving medications and other needs. They assured me it would be easy to stop some services for my loved one, but it turned out to be very difficult. They didn't tell me any of this at the beginning. I was uncomfortable to learn that it wasn't as simple as they said. I think the community just wants to charge more money for extra care services. The billing process is really bad. There's a basic rate for services, and then they charge extra for personal care services. I asked for a detailed bill, but it took corporate a long time to give it to me. They said their billing system doesn't break down charges item by item.

"Convenient Location with Helpful Staff; Communication Needs Improvement"
We picked this place because it's close to the hospital and doctors she sees. They have a shuttle for appointments but only on certain days. The director here is really nice and helps us a lot. We're having trouble with billing and communication, though they're busy. They should detail charges better on bills; hard to get answers. But overall, I'm pleased with her care and would suggest this place.

"Good memory care with room for food and staffing improvements"
My mom is in memory care here, and it’s a good place. They could use more fruits and vegetables and less fat in the food. They also need more staff to help with the residents. The room size is fine, but the halls are pretty long, so it’s hard to get in touch with the staff. We’re happy she’s there, and it’s nice that she can have her own things in her room. We love the activities director and appreciate the special care the caregivers give.

"Nice Facility, Pricey Studios"
This place is really nice. The staff are friendly, but it's pricier than others. Unfortunately, the studio style living areas won't suit my parents we need a separate sleeping space.

"Friendly Staff and Clean, Spacious Rooms; Reasonable Pricing with Fees"
The staff were all really nice, and the rooms were clean with no bad smells. The rooms themselves were really nice and big, and the prices seemed fair. However, they do charge a $1700 commitment fee if you want to be put on the waiting list.
