"Mixed Experience at Holiday Maplewood Place"
The staff at Holiday Maplewood Place were really nice and made us feel welcome. However, we didn't get a good orientation when we moved in, so we had to keep asking about things we needed to know beforehand. The food isn't as good as we thought it would be before we moved in. It would be better if they had more healthy options and offered more fruit. The laundry machines are old-fashioned. Some are new, but most are old. The maintenance staff is great. They fix things quickly when we ask. The building itself is beautiful, updated, and has lots of light which makes it cheerful.

"Rude Operations Specialist Ruins Assisted Living Facility Environment"
The way the guy in charge talks to and about the workers, and even the ones who used to work there is just plain awful. If you want a nice place for your loved ones, he shouldn't be in charge, if you don't like your job or the people you work with then don't do the job. The way they act it's like you would expect more manners from a class of kindergarteners. As a family member of someone who spent years in this facility, I have never seen such rudeness until I came across this guy.

"Avoidance Recommended: Safety Concerns and Poor Management at Assisted Living"
The safety of this assisted living facility is concerning due to low staffing levels. This problem got worse when the new management team fired many of the good employees, causing the rest to quit. There are hardly any activities for the residents, apart from watching exercise videos or Catholic Mass on television. The food is subpar and has gotten worse since the kitchen manager was let go. Many families are recognizing these issues and are moving their loved ones out at a concerning speed. Instead of focusing on caring for its residents, the management has instead spent time and money on remodeling the facility, which is the only positive change. Since Holiday management took over, the facility has gone downhill rapidly, despite a significant rent increase. There are not enough staff, the food quality has deteriorated, and there are hardly any activities for the residents. If you're thinking of visiting with the idea to commit to this place, ask how many residents they currently have compared to last year. Look around for engaging activities or any staff. This place should be avoided at all costs!

"Mixed Experience: Caring Staff, Poor Food Quality"
Generally, the staff is nice and caring. The residents are friendly. My loved one is much happier now. Before moving in, she couldn't walk. Now, she walks to her second-floor apartment on her own. Overall, it's been positive for her. She enjoys many activities and seems content. The main problem is the food. They changed providers, and it's now terrible—so bad that no one wants to eat it. Despite complaints, nothing has improved.

"Happy with choice, despite current construction and busy times."
Overall, my family is happy with our choice. They’ve been doing construction for the last 3 months, and while it’s a bit hectic now, the upgrades should make things better. Housekeeping comes twice a week and does a good job. The food is high quality, and my wife is very pleased with it. The staff has been here for a while and seems happy, which shows in how they care for the residents. I’ve recommended this place to family and friends and will keep doing so.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living"
Good things first: My sister has made friends and enjoys activities, just as we hoped. However, the administration frustrates her. Some rules seem unnecessary, and they come from the big corporation. Overall, it meets our needs.

"Friendly staff and activities; recommend to others."
We picked Atria Maplewood Place because it's close to his home, and he knows the area. The apartments are a bit small; he has a studio, but we might upgrade. They have lots of activities for residents, and the staff is friendly. I'd recommend it to others.

"Assisted Living Gets High Praise from Visitors"
It's really nice. When my friends came to visit, they were amazed at how nice and clean it is. Atria Maplewood Place has been really careful about Covid and all the rules. Now, things are starting to get less strict, which is good. The people there are really friendly, and everyone seems really nice. They also have lots of activities to do.

"Great staff and beautiful facilities highly recommend Atria Maplewood Place"
We picked Atria Maplewood Place because we had an emergency, and they had room for us when we needed it. I’m really thankful because everything turned out great. There are many amazing staff members here. The dining room upstairs is beautiful, almost like a 5-star restaurant. They also have an inside courtyard, and everyone here seems pretty happy. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

"Great care and safety at Maplewood during Covid."
My Grandmother lives at Maplewood, and the place is really nice. I’m really glad my parents chose this place for her. I was worried during Covid because I didn’t want her to get sick, but the staff did an amazing job keeping everyone safe. They had all the supplies they needed and tested the staff often.

"Friendly staff, great food, and lots of activities!"
The staff are friendly and helpful. The community is nice and cozy. They have lots of activities to enjoy. The food is excellent, with meals like lobster rolls and scallops. It’s a large community with everything you need and a nice open courtyard. It feels like living in a condo because it’s so active. I recommend this community.

"Content Residents in Atria, Malden"
We went to Atria in Malden lately. The place looks good and has cool shared areas. People living there seemed pretty happy. They didn't have any empty rooms when we visited. The room we saw that was already taken was quite tiny, and I don't know if there are bigger ones. I think my dad would like it there, but he's not ready to move yet.

"Improved Communication Needed at Maplewood Assisted Living"
The people who help us are nice and helpful. But, they need to tell us more stuff. They should put activities online. When we move in, they should have a big meeting to explain everything. They should talk to our families to see how things are going. The bosses need to be more organized and around more. Especially the main nurse. She should spend time with new people or be in the building more. She always seems too busy and not here.

"New Resident Needs"
The assisted living facility is nice overall, but it could use better organization at the top. Once you become a resident, you should receive important information about medications, who to contact for issues or questions, laundry schedules, and linen care. It would be helpful if they were more responsive to new residents' inquiries. Unfortunately, the kitchenettes aren't designed well for seniors. The cabinets are too high, and there's not enough counter space. On a positive note, the aides are wonderful, and the staff is very kind.

"The Staff Goes Above and Beyond"
I believe the facility is super clean. The dining room is awesome. It'd be great if the hours were a bit longer because my Mom likes to get up early. The staff is really helpful. They're even considering starting a cooking club for her. While I'd like to see my Mom have more freedom I'm glad they're keeping an eye on her.

"Positive Experience at Atria Maplewood Place for My Father"
My dad's doing great at Atria Maplewood Place. It's been really nice overall. I think it would be cool if they brought in more different kinds of food sometimes, like Chinese or other types. Going out to restaurants once in a while would be fun too. They could mix up the activities a bit more, but I get that they're doing their best for everyone. Even though he's 91, my dad can still get around pretty well. The staff there treat him nicely, and it seems like he's made friends. I feel good about his safety there. Thankfully, there haven't been any sickness outbreaks in the year and a half he's been there, which I was worried about. The staff handle everything well, so I'm not up worrying about him at night.

"Old School Assisted Living: A Nice Choice"
Wow, it's cool that the assisted living facility is in an old school. But my dad wasn't super excited about this one. The manager was really nice, though, and it's in a city neighborhood.

"Great Assisted Living Choice, Highly Recommended"
I was worried about moving my mom into assisted living because I didn’t understand it well. From day one, the staff at Atria showed me that assisted living is a great option for older parents. They were very friendly and got my mom involved in activities, which was a big win. I definitely recommend Atria.

"Working Out Well So Far"
My mother-in-law seems happy here now that she's adjusted and settled in. It's a nice, clean place with friendly staff. We've heard good things about the food. This place was recommended by a family member, and so far, they were right! However, we've had a few issues and billing mistakes that we eventually resolved. It's quite expensive, especially the extra services for helping her with directions and activities.

"A nice and friendly place"
This is one of the places we checked out when we were searching for options for my Dad. We did a lot of research to find the best place for him. This place was very nice, it looked great, and the staff were friendly. However, it wasn't the perfect fit for us. It didn't have enough of a community feel or social activities that we wanted. Overall, it's a very nice place.
