"Memory care needs improvement, but staff is caring."
Our experience was only with the memory care floor. I can't be sure about the rest of the place. The staff needs better training to handle Alzheimer's residents. When residents get angry or frustrated, they just send them to the hospital. This seems common in most elderly care facilities. The food could be better considering the cost. On the bright side, the direct care staff are kind and attentive to all residents, even the challenging ones.

"Atria: Unpleasant Odor, Unsafe Street, Poor Parking"
I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. It's based in an outdated Mill building and there's hardly any parking. You've got to park on the other side of a super risky street. The building itself isn't clean and there's an unpleasant odor everywhere. Atria is not a good choice according to us.

"Mixed Experience with Dining and Staff, Overall Positive Environment"
Positive: The staff is friendly and there are lots of activities to do. The person who plans the activities is really great! Negative: Some staff come into rooms without knocking even after we've asked them not to. The dining tables only allow 4 people to sit together, and we don't get assigned seats. When 5 of us want to sit together, they won't let us, but if family or friends visit, they help move tables so they can all sit together. I feel like they care more about what family wants than what we want. Sometimes my mom doesn't eat because she's shy and doesn't want to eat alone when all the tables are full.

"Great Activities and Kind Staff!"
CONS: The food quality is a big issue for my mom and others. Even after many meetings and requests, the food is consistently served lukewarm or cold. Most dining room staff are new to serving. There’s been a huge price increase that goes beyond inflation and other facilities. Be cautious about extra costs (like laundry or shower help) – they add up. Apartments lack proper storage. PROS: The cleaning staff, van driver, front desk workers, and salon owner are kind and friendly. The Activities Director works hard to keep residents happy and engaged. Lots of great activities, including local high schoolers, professional entertainers, games, and outings. Beautiful facilities – my mom is happy here.

"Good tour, well-kept residents, location an issue"
We had a good tour at Atria Marland Place. The residents seemed well cared for. The location was the main issue for us.

"Mixed feelings: Great staff, but watch out for extra costs."
The place looks great and they have fun activities. The staff and management are great. Bridget, who runs things, is really helpful and cares about my mom. But watch out for the business side of things. If you need constant care, it costs a lot more. We got stuck with extra fees we couldn't afford. Be careful your loved one doesn't need more care than they offer, or you might end up paying a lot more.
