"Not Suitable for Younger Residents"

We visited Brightview Arlington with a staff who was friendly and showed us around. The place is nice and super clean, which is really important for our sister-in-law. However, she's younger than most of the people there, so we don't think it's the right place for her.

The facilities are beautiful and in a good location, near JCC. They do not have Adult Foster Care or Medicaid. When money is gone she is out. One seating per meal.

"Assisted Living Good, Memory Care Not"

This place feels pretty business-like. It’s brand new, tidy, and runs smoothly. It’s in a good spot but kind of cut off from everything. The part for folks who need some help looked nice, but the memory care part was a letdown. The workers there seemed like they weren’t really into their jobs. If we needed a place for just some help getting around, we might think about this one, but we wouldn’t pick it for memory care.

"Clean Facility, High Cost, Unfulfilled Promises, and Staffing Issues"

Indeed, the place is tidy. They make big promises but fail to fulfill them. It's disappointing because it's a beautiful place, but it's a bit too expensive for what they offer and they have a hard time retaining staff. (That speaks volumes) If you're not constantly monitoring your loved one's care, they might get overlooked. Activities are often called off without letting the residents know.

"Fair but overpriced care, frequent staff changes, and cancelled activities"

Indeed, the facility has top-notch cleanliness. However, the overpriced promises they make tend to fall by the wayside. The frequent turnover in staff is disappointing, especially considering how lovely the environment is. Residents can easily feel overlooked unless their family members actively monitor their care. Often, the planned activities for the residents are abruptly cancelled without any prior notification to them.

"Overall, a solid assisted living facility with some concerns."

This place was my second choice for my cousin. It's on a hill, which worried me because he uses a walker and now a cane. The terrace is lovely, and the admission director was friendly and knowledgeable. They're well-connected to the community. I wasn't sure how well my cousin's personality would fit in with other residents.

"Hillside Assisted Living: Community Connection, Limited Mobility Concerns"

This was my second choice for my cousin's placement. I was worried because it's on a hill, and he uses a walker. Now he's using a cane, and I didn't think it would be easy for him to take walks, which he enjoys. They do have a nice terrace to sit on. The person who admitted us was really nice and knew a lot. I liked that they were connected to the community around them. I thought the activities would be okay for my cousin, but I wasn't sure how well he'd fit in with the other people there or how much he'd interact with them.

"Too Expensive!"

We visited this community for a tour. Everything seemed nice—the friendly staff and happy residents. But the price wasn’t what we hoped for.

"Great Assisted Living with Modern Amenities and Responsive Staff"

I chose Brightview because it’s off the main road and close to where my siblings live, so they can visit often. It’s new, modern, and nicely furnished. They have a special memory care unit for Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients, which is what my mom needed since she couldn’t wander off. The dining and activity areas are beautiful, and there’s even a fitness room and hair salon. The resident rooms are clean and we picked a sunny one for my mom. Since it was built only 2 years ago, everything is new. Parking is easy with a garage below the building. The director of the memory care unit is very nice, helpful, and quick to respond. Having someone like that is really important when you have questions or concerns. The staff are all friendly and check on my mom every hour if she’s in her room. They encourage residents to spend time in common areas to keep an eye on them. My mom needs help with showering and dressing, and she always looks and smells clean. The food is usually very good, though one soup I tried tasted like liquid mustard. Other than that, the food, including desserts, is excellent. They offer activities every day and encourage participation but don’t force it. There’s a nurse available from 7am to 11pm, which is comforting. I recommend visiting often at first to see for yourself. My mom has been there almost two months and everything has been great so far.

"Clean and Cozy Community!"

My family member really likes how clean the place is. They always make sure his room stays nice and fresh. The food is good and there's lots of healthy stuff to choose from. The people who work here are really nice and they make sure he feels at home."
