"Facility Moves Patients Without Consent For Minor Medication Changes"
My family member had a terrible time here. They only let him stay for a day before transferring him out with no heads up or consent from me. Even though I was there all the time and there were no issues, they moved him for simple changes to his medication.

"**Mixed review:** Good for seniors, poor for dementia care."
Overall, this place is well-maintained with a nice environment, friendly staff, and great food. I recommend it for regular senior living, but, not for dementia care. The staff isn't properly trained to handle dementia residents, and the house doctor doesn't prescribe necessary medications. Dementia patients miss out on activities because they lack guidance. I'd give 4.5 stars for senior living, but only 2 stars for dementia care.

"Brookdale Falls Short: Disappointing Experience for Seniors and Families"
Brookdale made big promises but couldn't deliver. Not good. This place suits more outgoing seniors, but activities are dull. Mom felt neglected; staff even stole her iPad. Unacceptable! They failed to care for Mom till the end, false promises. Not worth the money; food is bad too. Avoid Brookdale.

"Communication and Care Concerns at Assisted Living Facility"
At first, the assisted living facility seemed promising. It was clean, odor-free, and they talked about various activities. My mom was in the memory care unit, which was always locked. You needed someone to let you in and out. There were times when I visited and couldn't find anyone to let me out. I also felt like I was being charged for unnecessary things. They insisted on managing the medication, but there were instances when they gave the wrong medication. One resident kept going into rooms and taking things, but the staff knew where to find the items. We had to lock the door when we weren't in the room. The biggest letdown was when my mom fell and broke her hip. No one could explain what happened. They felt it was too risky to take her back, even though they care for people in wheelchairs. Communication was difficult during this time. Emails went unanswered and charges were automatically deducted from my mom's account. After two months, we found a new place for her. She can now walk with a walker when necessary. We wish the front office communicated better and offered a payment reduction plan when you're paying for an empty room. A relative once visited and found that my mom wasn't there, and the caregiver didn't know why. This was a few weeks after she had left. Maybe the staff communication could be improved too.

I really like Brookdale because of how they organize the community. They have small cottages with 10-15 people each. I know everyone by their first names. Some workers are amazing, while others are just doing their job. The Alzheimer’s whisperer in Dogwood is fantastic, and another worker is great too. They’re kind and caring, which puts me at ease about my aunt.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
We met with someone from there and had a nice chat and tour, but the place was too small for what we needed.

"Good care but communication and service setup need improvement"
Overall, things have been good at Emeritus at Dartmouth! The place is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. However, communication between the staff and families could be better. My loved one’s medication was given incorrectly even though I had explained the right way to another staff member. Also, it took a long time to set up her phone service.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The folks were nice and tried to assist us well. While they helped during our stay, they couldn't provide bed rails. They promptly called when there was an accident. However, it didn't fully meet our needs.
