"Poor Assessment Process; Can't Recommend Facility Based on Experience"

I only managed to stay for eight days at this facility. I discovered I wasn't quite ready for assisted living physically. They need to make sure their nurse is more thorough when conducting the interview. Considering my experience, I wouldn't advise others to pick this facility.

The place is great. Transport's good, staff's nice. Dining needs work.

"Mixed Experience at Brookdale Quincy Bay"

My family member lived at Brookdale Quincy Bay. Overall, the place was nice. The Director and staff were helpful, but moving in was a bit challenging.

"Great staff make Brookdale Quincy Bay a recommended choice"

It's still early to judge the activities, but what our family really likes about Brookdale Quincy Bay is how professional, patient, and kind the staff are. Based on our experience so far, we would recommend this place to other families.

"Affordable and Friendly Assisted Living with a Few Challenges"

I really like this place overall. The people who work here are very nice and encourage my dad to join in activities. They decorate nicely for holidays, and the building looks good inside. My dad's studio apartment is surprisingly spacious. Everything in the building is in good shape. The only issue we've had is that he's been wandering and getting lost, and they're having trouble handling that. So, we're paying a lot more for extra care, which we didn't expect. Apart from those added costs, it's the cheapest place I could find.

"The review highlights staff kindness and a concern about the rug."

I think everyone is really nice and caring. The residents help each other. My mom enjoys the classes and food, although she's getting tired of the same meals. She loves that people say hi to her by name. The only problem is the rough rug; it's meant for a business, not a home.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

This place didn't work well for my loved one due to their care needs. The community's screening process could have been better. Staff communication was generally good, and they usually responded well to our questions. They served three meals daily with options for residents. However, there's an extra fee for meal delivery to rooms. They offered plenty of activities for residents to enjoy.

"Good place with friendly staff but room for improvement"

This place is really good. The staff is generally friendly and always treats my aunt with respect and care. However, there isn't as much diversity as we’d like, and sometimes it feels a bit awkward with the other residents, which can also be uncomfortable for me when I visit. The facility is clean, and the marketing person is very helpful. Maintenance is pretty good. Overall, it's been a positive experience. The food is tasty, but it would be nice to have more variety since my aunt finds the meals repetitive. Her room has a nice view and includes a stove and refrigerator. Communication with the family could be better; I have to contact them instead of them reaching out to me. But overall, it’s a good place for my aunt, and I’d recommend it to family and friends.

"Friendly Assisted Living with Varied Food"

It’s been pretty good here. I picked this place because it’s close to home and affordable. The staff and facility are impressive. The food varies.

"Needs Unmet, Prices High"

They didn't fulfill all my needs, and their prices were too high.

"“Good Care, Some Improvements Needed”"

I really like Brookdale Quincy Bay, and my loved one receives good care. The food quality needs improvement, though—they could offer more variety. My loved one has some wonderful aides during the day. Despite being short-staffed (which seems common everywhere), I would definitely recommend them to others.

"Friendly Staff and Varied Activities; Improvements Needed in Dining"

The staff at this assisted living facility are really nice. They organize parties and yoga for the residents, which is fun. The dining services could be better, though. The best part about this place is the CNAs, especially the lady at the front desk, and the people who do the laundry. The hands-on staff are very friendly. The corporate marketing team also helped a lot with coordinating my mom's services with outside agencies like physical therapy.

"Fun Dining and Great Activities at Brookdale"

The only thing I think is missing at Brookdale is an exercise facility with workout equipment. I would use it if we had one, but we don't right now. It might come later, but I haven't asked the staff yet. Even without a gym, they do a good job with activities. There are many I haven't tried yet, but the ones I did were fun and made me want to go again. My favorite part of living here, since I'm a people person, is interacting with others. Whether it's during meals, activities, or in common areas, I enjoy it. Overall, I recommend Brookdale Quincy Bay to others – try it, you'll like it.

"Feels Like an Old Apartment Building, Not a Community"

The place seems more like an elderly apartment complex than an actual community.

"Comfortable Living with Limited Activities Recommend for Elderly Residents"

Brookdale Quincy Bay seems like a good place for my dad. It's really clean and well-maintained. The food is tasty, but my dad wishes they had more fresh fruit. They have activities, but since my dad is younger, he's not into most of them. However, he likes using their shuttle to go shopping or to concerts in Boston. His apartment is awesome, clean, and cozy. I'd suggest Brookdale Quincy Bay to others.

"Confident Choice at Assisted Living"

We'll probably sign an agreement here. The staff at all the places we visited were great and knowledgeable. The Director and salesperson Kevin were very friendly and made us feel welcome. They both gave us confidence in our decision.

"Nice Tour, Not Our Fit: 8th Grade Assisted Living Review"

I visited here, and it was nice. It wasn't exactly what we wanted, but it was really nice. It might be good for a friend, but not for us.

"Brookdale Quincy: Care Quality Declines As Need For Aid Increases"

The experience my mother and I had at Brookdale Quincy Ma wasn't exactly positive. During our search for a suitable living facility for my mom, Riverbay seemed like the perfect match. The staff appeared sincere, friendly, and accommodating, and she was excited about her new home. However, the quality of care took a nosedive as my mom's need for help increased. They weren't nice to her because she needed extra help and would threaten her with complaints. It was common for her to wait for assistance, sometimes even sitting in her own urine waiting for someone to come by. They would rush her during showers because they wanted to wrap up their shifts. When she participated in activities, she was often overlooked because she didn't ask for help quick enough. The staff were inconsistent; some were excellent while others were lackluster. A few aides stand out positively among the rest, who should be fired immediately. One nurse, needs replacement. She openly expressed her dread of dealing with patients' problems. However, the Director of Nursing, is exceptional and truly cares for the residents. Unfortunately, some employees seem merely interested in their paychecks. Particularly, the Director, is ineffective. He makes promises but doesn't deliver. He avoids confronting or resolving problems, instead focusing on temporary appearances. Before deciding on this place for your parent, get some firsthand accounts. Ideally, we'd like to move my mom, but she's reluctant to uproot her life again. Seniors deserve proper care and respect, not mistreatment.

"Great place with friendly staff and clean facilities!"

Overall, we're really pleased with Brookdale Quincy Bay! The staff is friendly and professional. They keep in touch if there are any problems. The place is clean and well-maintained, and my loved one enjoys being here. A friend's mother, who lives here, recommended it, and it was a great suggestion!

"Great place, needs better escort service"

We really like Brookdale Quincy Bay. It's a nice place overall! It looks good and is always clean, and everyone here is friendly. The staff takes good care of the residents! My only complaint is that I think they could do better with the escort service they offer to take residents to meals and activities. It's nice that they have it, but it hasn't always been dependable in our experience.

"Great Visit but Doesn't Meet LTC Policy Criteria"

I had a very nice visit, but it doesn't meet the criteria of my long-term care policy.

"River Bay Club: A Fantastic Place to Call Home"

I explored at least 8 other facilities in the area, but this place stands out as a winner. I secured a beautiful, spacious 1-bedroom apartment for my Mom at a reasonable price. Most places offer specials during certain times of the year, and they discounted the rental price to attract new clients. Thanks to a 30% discount, the price dropped from $4,200 to $2,950 per month. Mom enjoys a daily dinner that includes everything from soup to nuts: soup, salad, fresh bread, entree, potato, vegetables, coffee, and dessert. She can even have seconds if she wants. Her apartment gets cleaned twice a month, all included in the rental. The only extras are her phone and TV. The free mini-van takes residents out every Wednesday to the grocery store or pharmacy. On Sundays, they embark on mystery rides to places like the shrine of La Salette and Plymouth (Plymouth Rock). It’s wonderful that they can enjoy little adventures. I haven’t met a crabby person there yet. The caring staff includes a welcoming committee to help new residents adjust. At dinner, they seat you with the same tablemates, fostering friendships and lively conversations. Bands and piano players visit, and there are clubs for cards, knitting, computers, and books. You’ll be glad you checked it out! [[River Bay Club]]: What a wonderful place to live!

I went on a tour and talked to Helen Galagher. They accepted my aunt, and she's living there now

"Like a Hotel, Lacks Promised Social Interaction"

River Bay Club feels like a big hotel. I can't say anything bad about them, but we feel we're not getting our money's worth. Our family member needs social interaction, but they promised daily outings which haven't happened. Meals are included, but our loved one stays in their room, incurring a $9 room service fee. If they're not fulfilling their promise, why charge extra? Maybe our loved one needs different care, but better assessment could have prevented this frustration. Apart from that, it's hard to reach and on a busy street.

"Lots of Activities"

We picked this community because it cost $1,000 less than the previous one. They have many different activities to keep residents busy. However, they aren't very proactive about the extra services you pay for. If you're paying extra, make sure they actually provide them. There seems to be a disconnect somewhere, and hopefully, they'll fix it.

"Great Layout and Helpful Staff at River Bay Club"

The place has a cool setup—all the important stuff is on the first floor. It's bright and lively, with folks moving around. We checked out a nicely decorated model apartment with a sweet view. I chatted with she for over an hour. She knew her stuff, was patient, and listened. Even though the River Bay Club wasn't right for my parents, She still gave me helpful advice. She's awesome

"Convenient and Comfortable Assisted Living with Meal Inclusion"

This assisted living place offers two-bedroom apartments with a kitchen where you can eat in and a spacious bedroom. Plus, they provide one meal a day along with shopping and transportation services. If you need to travel, you can even hire a town car for half the price of a regular cab. It's a convenient and comfortable option for seniors.

Seems like a solid option.

"Big and Busy: Not Ideal for Mom"

The place was just too big and too much for my mom. When it was time to eat dinner, there was always a really long wait just to sit down. It’s super easy to just become another face in the crowd.
