"Place Doesn't Cater Personal Needs, Light Staff, Poor COVID Rules"
This place, though it looks good from outside, was hard to deal with and didn't get my folks' special needs. They barely have staff at night and no one to talk to after hours. They let other folks wander into my parents' room causing big problems. It got so bad that we moved my parents out. Also, their COVID rules sucked, and my parent got really sick because of it.

"Meaningful and Engaging Programs - Great Place"
My mom was a resident of Compass and we couldn't be happier with the loving team that supported her while she was there. They made a point of really get to know her and once they discovered that she was a teacher and loved poetry, they added a special session ("Poetry with M.") on the recreation calendar where she taught a class to other residents. She was also able to continue to enjoy another passion - visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, while she lived there. Both my sister and I work in health care and really researched homes before deciding on Cornerstone we know we made the right choice. The Compass area design is amazing for people with memory issues. There is a lot of light, plenty of outdoor spaces, common and quiet areas for visiting and bright apartments.

"Friendly Staff"
We visited Cornerstone at Milford, and we found the community to be very nice. The staff was incredibly friendly. However, we felt that the community was too far away and too large for our loved one.

"Not close to family"
It was a beautiful place to visit. It was clean, and the residents looked happy. The room I saw was really nice. I didn’t see anything concerning. Everything seemed fine here. The location wasn’t close to family.

"Cornerstone truly transformed Aurora's life for the better!"
Aurora is in her 80s and had many health issues from diabetes. For about a year, she was in and out of hospitals and rehab. With her health problems and the indifference of medical staff, we almost lost her three times. The healthcare system treated her like she was an old woman who didn’t matter anymore, which made her health worse. They seemed ready to give up on her. When she finally started to improve, we had to make some decisions. She couldn’t live alone at home anymore. Aurora had a bad opinion of assisted living places from her past experiences. She said, “I’ve been to those places. I know what they are; I’m not going.” But then she visited Cornerstone. We spent a lot of time with the staff and residents. When we asked residents, away from the staff, for a "real" review, everyone said they loved living there! Aurora’s first impression was great: “This place doesn’t smell old!” At the end of the tour, they asked if she would be interested in a room if one was available. She surprised us all by saying, “Can I move in today?” We couldn’t believe it but were so happy! The staff found her a room, and her life has changed for the better. Now, the woman who could barely walk to her room “races” there with her walker. She enjoys many activities, gatherings, and meals with the other residents. She is not bored or lonely. The staff always say, “Hi there!” to her and others, making everyone feel welcome. The staff truly cares about her! I’ve seen how seniors are treated, both now and in the past. Too many are ignored and pushed aside. I don’t see that happening at Cornerstone! I thank God for the people in administration and those who work there every day. Their caring attitude comes from the top down. These wonderful people are a blessing to all, especially to our Aurora. Thanks to all the Cornerstone staff!

"Lacking AEDs, CPR Training, and Limited Nursing Services"
This place doesn't have any AED machines. The staff here are not taught how to perform CPR. The nurse can't provide a full range of services.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Alzheimer's Care Responsibilities"
New resident with worsening Alzheimer's is scared to shower. They haven't helped her bathe in over a week and haven't arranged physical therapy since she arrived. These problems aren't being fixed. Staff blames the doctor for not referring her to PT but hasn't solved the issue without family intervention. Family had to call the doctor again. If the facility is involved in Alzheimer's care, why can't they assist her with showering? That's one of the reasons she's there. They should be able to handle a scared Alzheimer's patient and still help with daily activities. Maybe they admitted her too soon if they don't have qualified staff. Falling and bruises on her arms have also been a problem. She fell at least three times in the first week.

"A really good place overall!"
Overall, it’s a really good place. The food is excellent, and there's a nice outside area. I’ve never had trouble finding parking. I can’t imagine it being much better than this, so we didn’t check out any other communities.
