"Mixed Experience, Still Recommend"

Ruth’s House is a pretty good place overall. Communication with the community could be better. Sometimes, when my loved one went to the hospital, they didn’t let me know. And when they returned, I wasn’t contacted either. Plus, there were payment issues—they raised prices without asking me. But despite that, it’s a safe community, and I’d recommend Ruth’s House to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short: Lack of Communication and Care"

This place has been a letdown. I thought it would be better. We waited three weeks before they changed my loved one's bedding. They're supposed to clean weekly, but that's not happening. I emailed the director with my concerns. I also emailed about my loved one's doctor appointment, but didn't get a reply. When his medicine wasn't delivered, a visiting nurse called me irresponsible, but I didn't know he had medicine to pick up. I found out about a COVID outbreak from my loved one, not from the facility. They didn't inform me or take responsibility for it. My loved one was quarantined for three weeks, but they wouldn't admit to bringing in COVID. They said they couldn't tell me anything because he's his own person, despite me being his health care proxy and power of attorney. He's supposed to have two showers a week, but that's not happening either.

"Caring Community for Memory Care"

The community gets to know residents quickly and adjusts care based on their personality. It’s a great place for memory care, and I recommend it.

""Severe Understaffing and Disrespect Displayed at Assisted Living Facility""

This place is severely short of staff, and those who are around aren't very professional or respectful towards their patients. The person in charge knows they don't have enough workers but still forces them to work longer hours. Even when they're physically unable to, she makes them work extra hours. The way the residents are treated is also poor. They just sit dolefully in chairs, like lifeless dolls, with no permission to even go outdoors.

"Friendly environment with great community atmosphere."

The tour of this place was nice. Everyone was kind. The community looked great.

"Comprehensive Care and Value"

The memory unit has a great layout. I appreciate having the nursing home and rehab nearby in separate buildings. They provide thorough care on the unit, and the price is slightly lower than Armbrook, with more services available.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"

My mom hasn't been here long, so my rating might not be totally fair. The floor's clean overall, but mom's place smells like pee, and they didn't vacuum her dirty floor until I asked. I don't think I should have to ask. I also find clean (I hope) clothes lying around sometimes. Most people seem friendly, but one aide isn't great. Maybe just a grumpy person? The nurse is great, and most aides seem genuine, but it's early days. Value is okay, but I'll hold off judgment for now because some care services are lacking. I've had to remind them about some things on mom's treatment plan several times. It's frustrating. There are a few other care issues I've had to bring up too. Oh, and almost everyone complains about the food. I'm not sure if it's really bad or just how the residents see it! But my mom enjoys the activities and the staff try to get everyone involved. I guess they can only do so much. Overall, I gave the facility a 3.5, but it's early days, so it might not be accurate. It's the best I can do based on our experience so far. I think I need to give it more time before I can really judge.
