"Assisted Living Facility Review: Care Claims Oversold, Mom Left Unattended"
They say they can do a lot for you but they can't. My mom was yelling for help on the ground because she forgot to press the button around her neck. People should be able to handle most things by themselves.

"Great staff, flexible solutions, and open family visits"
The staff here are really dedicated and always willing to help. They come up with creative solutions to problems and are very flexible. Families can visit anytime they want. I had both my parents living there for around six months, and during that time, they moved to new apartments twice.

"Cleanliness lacking; safety concern with unrestricted staircase."
The place isn't very clean. Unrestricted staircase poses safety concern.

"Great care and engaging staff at Sunrise of Burlington"
I felt at ease when I first visited Sunrise of Burlington while looking for the best place for my dad. I’m really glad I chose this place because the care he got was fantastic. Dad stayed busy with activities, even when he didn’t feel like joining in! The staff is kind and really connects with both the residents and their families.

"A Mixed Experience at Sunrise"
The Burlington, MA location is nice and welcoming. It has three floors, two elevators, and a stairway. There are cozy spots to sit and chat with friends and family. Our studio, which we used as a two-bedroom, was spacious enough. We were there for respite care, so the monthly cost was high, but they provided furniture. Unfortunately, there’s no gym area. Meals were a challenge—breakfast was good, but the other two meals were often small and not well-prepared. We sometimes had to supplement from our room fridge. Staff restrictions seemed more server-related than management-related. If you have dietary needs, be clear about them. They offer daily activities. My advice: ask for a detailed breakdown of costs. We felt uncertain and possibly overcharged. Compared to another facility, Sunrise fell short.

"A Life-Changing Experience: Sunrise Transformed My Mom’s Life"
My mom went to Sunrise in Burlington, MA about a year ago. Even though she needed their services then, she didn't want to leave her home. That turned out to be a bad choice because over the next year, she had many falls and emergency trips by ambulance. My brother and I were really worried about her, not knowing what might happen next. During this tough time, Sunrise kept in touch with me and tried different ways to get my mom to move in, which she really needed. Eventually, my mom’s condition got so bad that she couldn't get up from the couch to cook, clean, or even use the bathroom. She ended up in the ER again and it was clear she couldn’t take care of herself. I had all these emails from Sunrise and called them, feeling desperate. They jumped in right away and luckily, they had a room available. Their team assessed my mom and had a care plan ready in just 48 hours. Less than four days after being taken from her home, where she was not eating or staying clean, she was in a nicely furnished room with clean clothes, eating good meals, and even got a hair appointment.

"A Nice Tour of This Community"
I visited this place for my dad to see if it would be a good fit for him. The tour was pleasant, and everything looked clean and well taken care of. The staff I met were friendly and answered all my questions. It was a good experience, but I found another place that fit our needs better.

"Sunrise at Burlington: A Perfect Decision for Mom"
I'm really happy that my mom has adjusted well. When I visit her, she's often busy with activities or chatting with others. These were things we couldn't do for her at home. We miss her a lot since she used to live with us. Placing her in assisted living was tough, but we believe it was the right choice. My minor pet peeve is that the bedroom bathrooms could be cleaned a bit more often. I understand it's challenging with laundry. But overall, I appreciate how they quietly cater to each person's needs. The cost is a burden on our family. It's unfortunate that some people can't afford it, but we'll work extra hard for her happiness and well-being. She's our hero.

"Dining Room Assistance Overloads Caregivers, Otherwise Great Staff"
I saw that the caregivers in this place not only take care of the residents but also help them in the dining room. They do more than one job, but I think the dining room should have its own staff. When I asked why, they said some people need extra help. The staff is really good otherwise!

"Helpful staff but needs more activities and friend-making opportunities"
The staff was always very helpful, friendly, and respectful to my mother and family. However, I wasn’t as impressed with the nursing staff. Some situations could have been managed better. We also wish there had been more intellectual activities, like guest speakers. It would have been nice to have more chances to make friends. Eating with the same people at every meal was tough. My mom enjoyed interesting conversations but struggled to find like-minded people.

"Mixed feelings about care, pleasant environment, but lacks attention."
This place looks nice and the people who work here are friendly, but we're worried about how they take care of my dad. We think he's not getting as much help as he did at the other place he stayed in before, even though it wasn't as fancy as Sunrise. We paid a lot for him to be here, but it seems like they don't pay much attention to him individually, and he fell not long after he moved in. We thought paying more would mean better care, but it doesn't seem like it. We're not sure if we'll bring him back here after he finishes rehab.

"Nice Looking, But Not a Perfect Fit"
We checked out this place while searching for options for my Dad. We did our homework to find the best spot for him. It’s a nice location, looks great, and the staff are friendly. However, it didn’t quite match what we were looking for in terms of community feel and social activities. Overall, still very nice.

"Assisted Living Like a Luxury Hotel, Great Amenities and Care"
I really liked the place—it felt like a fancy hotel! They had a private dining room where I had lunch (which was yummy) and did our interview. That dining room is always open for residents and their friends or family to eat privately. There's also a screened porch and a grand piano in the main entrance, plus another piano in the dining area. The rooms were big, but the fridge was small, and there were no stovetops. The cost was more affordable than Atria Longmeadow Place. Each resident has a CNA (certified nursing assistant) assigned to them. They carry pagers, so when a resident pulls a safety cord in the bathroom or bedroom, the CNA's pager goes off, and she can help right away. I felt really reassured by this, and by the services they offer like cleaning, laundry, maintenance, a hair salon, a dentist once a week, and a bistro always stocked with coffee, tea, and snacks. There seemed to be more older and frail people there, but I'll check again to make sure.
