"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living: Location and Atmosphere Stand Out"
Overall, it was nice. Food could be better. More residents have memory issues than anticipated. Chose for location, atmosphere, and live-in rooms.

"Paine Estate: Unauthorized Charges and Unlivable Conditions Post-Death"
My mom passed away recently at Paine Estate. Shortly after, her room was marked unlivable by local health officials. Shockingly, six days after her death, Paine Estate took more than $ from her account without our permission. The Acting Executive Director said that they had the right to take rent, fees, and other costs for a month after a resident's death (which seems like their own version of a death tax)! I don't get how they can bill a deceased person for a room, food, services, and more that they can't use. We can't change what happened to us, but please think about this situation when deciding where your loved ones should stay.

"Mold Found; Leak Not Disclosed at Assisted Living Facility"
We're super bummed. As we were cleaning my mother-in-law's room after she passed away, we found mold everywhere. Apparently, there was a leak a few months back. They didn't even tell us about it. We came to visit a few days later and saw that the carpet was still soaking wet and there was a really bad smell. It's obvious that they didn't clean up the water that had run down the walls and soaked the carpet properly. We weren't able to save any of her stuff.

"Assisted Living Tour at Traditions of Wayland"
We visited Traditions of Wayland and were impressed. They had recently been purchased, so they were updating everything. The salesperson we met was excellent. However, we felt another place might suit us better.

"Assisted Living Review: Mixed Experience"
Don't bother coming here. It's too small. Breakfast is good, but dinner is terrible. There's almost nothing to do due to Covid. The price seems too high. The building and grounds are nice, though. Service is average, impacted by Covid.

"Friendly, caring staff and welcoming atmosphere at Traditions"
Traditions of Wayland offers a calm, friendly environment in a historic estate. The cozy lounges are close together, so residents often see each other and feel like they belong. The sunny patio and lovely gardens make the place feel fresh and welcoming, especially during seasonal events. The Resident Care Director carefully chooses residents who will fit in well. Once admitted, efforts are made to keep residents in their own units. If more personal care is needed later, it can be arranged. The facility promises to keep residents in their place as much as possible. The care team regularly checks and updates individual care plans. The aides are praised for their kindness. They are patient, prompt, and respectful, always giving cheerful attention to any request. Residents enjoy a range of activities and entertainment, including popular recitals by local performers and special themed dinners with free guest invitations. These events are well-loved by residents and their families and help everyone feel connected. The staff's assistance and interaction make these events enjoyable, and families feel appreciated for their support. Traditions has gone through some changes over the past year, with new staff replacing some qualified personnel, which has been unsettling. However, the new Executive Director is very approachable and shows a personal interest in residents and their families. This positive attitude is felt by everyone, making Traditions a special and homey place.

"A Welcoming Community with Caring Staff and Engaging Activities"
Traditions of Wayland offers a peaceful and friendly environment in a charming historic estate. The lounges are close to each other, making it easy for residents to meet and feel at home. The sunny patio and beautiful gardens are great spots to relax and enjoy seasonal events. The Resident Care Director carefully selects residents who will fit in well. Once someone moves in, everything is done to help them stay in their unit without having to move to another facility. If they need more care as time goes on, it can be provided, with the promise that they can stay at Traditions from the beginning. The care team regularly reviews each resident's care plan and makes any necessary changes. The aides deserve a lot of praise for their kindness, which residents really appreciate! They are always patient, quick to help, and treat everyone with respect. No matter what residents need, the aides respond with a cheerful attitude. There are plenty of activities and entertainment options, so residents always have something fun to do. The music recitals by local performers are especially popular, and it's a great chance for both residents and performers to enjoy the experience. Special themed dinners where guests are invited are also a big hit with everyone. The staff helps out and interacts during these events, making them even more enjoyable. These gatherings also give family members a chance to connect and feel supported, as well as appreciated for the care they provide during visits. Traditions has gone through some changes in the past year, with some staff being replaced, which was a bit unsettling. However, the new Executive Director is very approachable and genuinely cares about the residents and their families. This caring attitude is reflected throughout the staff, making everyone, including family members, feel at home in this special place.

"Rapid Decline at Mom's Assisted Living Facility"
My Mom's Assisted Living Facility Took a Turn for the Worst" "Traditions of Wayland, my mom's home for several years, used to be a wonderful place. The staff and management were friendly and professional. However, in recent weeks, everything has changed. The new hires lack experience and there's a noticeable absence of friendliness - smiles are now rare. This place, once my mom's joyful abode, is now a mess; it's clear that order and organization have been lost. These staffing changes haven't just affected the atmosphere but also the quality of service. The meals, which used to be delicious, have become bland and unappetizing. To make matters worse, the Activities Director, a favorite amongst the residents, has recently left. The dining department, previously the highlight of my mom's day, also suffered when two irreplaceable staff members departed. Their pleasurable services are sorely missed as the current dining experience is dismal and the remaining staff members aren't exactly pleasant. Additionally, the housekeeping services have deteriorated severely. The formerly clean and tidy areas now ooze neglect. If things don't improve soon, I might have to relocate my mother to a better facility.

"Facility Declines Under New Ownership; Uneven Food, Staff Resignations"
We picked this facility for Mom as the meals and immaculate care originally impressed us. However, in the last eight months, things have changed dramatically. The consistent quality of the food is now inconsistent, either not fully cooked or in extremely small portions. On top of that, the whole cleaning staff left all at once, and they also lost the person responsible for organizing activities who was about to be fired anyway. The facility's ownership has swapped hands to a company that owns a handful of similar facilities. They're banking on the fact that once someone's parent is comfortably settled down, their children are unlikely to uproot them even if the living conditions deteriorate, as this would cause unnecessary upheaval.

"Surprised arrival, unkempt facility, untrained staff, shabby rooms"
When I arrived, they weren't ready for me. I thought the facility was messy, the employees seemed uninformed, and the rooms looked rundown. I won't be staying here.

"Lovely Community for Seniors: Traditions of Wayland"
Traditions of Wayland is a really nice place for seniors. The place where they live is like a beautiful big house. The rooms where they stay are very clean and big. The old people who live there are happy and having a good time. The people who work there really like their jobs and take good care of the residents. The doctors and nurses there are really good.

"Traditions Memory Care: Disappointments and Mismanagement Galore"
My mom was in the memory care section at Traditions for half a year before I decided to take her elsewhere. I had countless troubles about how she was treated, which I constantly reported to the workers. Within these six months, two different memory care directors came and went, sometimes leaving the position vacant. We were left unaware about these changes. The biggest issue was the calendar which listed various activities that, in reality, were nonexistent. Living closeby, I often checked in at random times during the day, multiple times per week. Usually, I found the residents aimlessly seated in a hallway on stained chairs with paper towels (probably for those who couldn't control their bladder), watching a movie. There was only one staff around, who was busy texting or listening to music. The memory care section lacked an activity room. Moreover, the hygienic conditions were questionable. Once, I observed unchanged sheets for weeks and had to bring this to an aide's attention. In fact, her room and bathroom were not cleaned regularly, which was even recorded on the wall schedule. I also discovered some emergency info from a previous resident still pinned to her door, which would've caused a big mess during an emergency. It seemed quite sloppy and unsafe. The memory care unit is clearly an afterthought. It's tiny, dull and poorly organized. The outdoor area isn't spacious and can't be seen from indoors, hence residents need assistance to access it. They mostly stay indoor watching films. As for the whole building, I can't really say, but I've had numerous discussions, emails and meetings with the building director about the memory care unit. I revealed to them I was looking for alternatives due to these issues. When I finally moved my mom out, they tried to bill me for two more months. They should've been the ones to cover her moving cost, considering how hard it is to relocate someone with dementia. The only reason we moved was due to how poorly she was treated. If you have a loved one at Traditions memory care, make sure to frequently drop in and check on their care, activities, and staffing level. If you're considering this place for a loved one, I'd say look elsewhere!

"Great spot with friendly staff"
We visited this place while searching for care for Mom. They accommodated us quickly for a tour, and the administrator was friendly. The rooms were a bit smaller, but overall, it was a great spot. It wasn't our top pick, but it was our second choice.

"Traditions Offers a Homey Atmosphere and Great Staff"
We chose Traditions because of the great staff and homey feel. It feels more like a real home, not a hotel. The apartments come in different sizes and have small stoves that help new residents feel more independent. The staff is honest about the pros and cons of assisted living and really attentive to each person’s needs.

"Seth friendly; distant; separate units; not ideal for both."
Spoke to Seth; he's friendly. Too distant. One in-law okay.
