"Bad Food and Fear at Assisted Living Facility"
The place looks good and the front desk staff are almost always nice. Even Eric, the guy who runs the maintenance crew is usually willing to help the people who live here. But the food... it's usually really bad. Dinner is often just tiny sandwiches like ham, they never give us enough, and it never makes us feel full. This is how it goes almost every day of the week. Sometimes it's okay, but that's rare. I've heard lots of stories about people getting sick from the food. There were eight people who agreed and want something to be done about the food. Some are so unhappy with the food, they won't eat most meals. They told me that the hot meals are the worst. People are scared to say anything because they think they'll get in trouble. They don't know what to do.

"Inauthentic Director, Fearful Staff, Plans to Move Mom Soon"
The sole positive aspect of this facility is the nurse aids. There's no fun in interacting with the insincere executive director. The staff is scared of her, and rumor has it, she intimidates them. Yet we wonder why they stick around. The answer is their compassion for the residents, and my mom appreciates that. But we're gearing up to relocate Mom pretty soon.

"Whalers Cove: Disorganized and Unresponsive, Not Recommended for Seniors"
I wouldn't suggest Whalers Cove even to my worst enemy. My mom kept complaining because she didn't get her pain medicine on time. After she passed away, I arranged for the Salvation Army to pick up her things. I talked to Maureen, the lady in charge, days before the pickup date to let them into the apartment. But on the day, they wouldn't allow Salvation Army in, even when I gave permission over the phone. Whalers Cove said it was a miscommunication and hoped I could reschedule. They said they'd try to clear everything out by the end of the month since my mom passed. It's very poorly managed, and now I'm scrambling to make moving plans again. They should handle removing the items themselves. If they try to charge me, they won't get anything. It's terribly managed. Also, I asked them twice about a fee for removing two old items that couldn't be donated. After two weeks, they still haven't replied. Please don't send your loved ones to Whalers Cove.

"Impressive assisted living facility with extensive services and welcoming staff."
We visited a really nice place. The person who showed us around, [Removed], Asst. Executive Director, was great. They have a lot of services available. This was a good beginning for us as we start looking into our options.

"Strikingly Poor Management Hinders Whaler's Cove Assisted Living Facility"
Whaler's Cove is absolutely the poorest choice for parents' residency. The meals are truly dreadful and they constantly lack supplies. The certified nursing assistants are simply terrible. The chief authority is a complete embarrassment to the facility. Despite the wonderful architecture, the head woman's management is likely to leave Whaler's Cove without employees or residents. Strongly advise against moving family or friends in here!

"Great facility but needs outdoor space"
Overall, I'm really impressed with this place! It looks very nice, is spacious, well-decorated, and very clean. The staff is very friendly too. The only downside is that there is no outdoor space since the facility is a converted commercial space. It would be great if they could turn part of a nearby parking lot into a small park!
