"Misleading marketing; subpar care."
They said no levels or extra costs, but care lacks quality.

"Higher Prices Under New Management"
The staff knows their jobs and tries to make residents comfortable. It's best for more independent residents. The cost went up after new management took over.

"Family tour limited by Covid restrictions"
My family toured the place in person and it was still quite restrictive because of Covid, but we managed to see most of it.

"Caring Staff That Goes Above and Beyond"
The staff at Whitcomb have been really great, especially during these tough times. I imagine working in this field right now is difficult for everyone, but they still manage to go above and beyond. Most of them show a strong sense of responsibility, not just to the residents but also to their families. They do a great job of staying in touch. I’m really thankful for everything they do! The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because I believe there’s always room to improve. This isn’t a bad thing—it just means there’s always a chance to do even better!

"Poor Communication and Care at Whitcomb House Assisted Living"
Whitcomb House needs to step up when it comes to communicating about my dad's care. They simply haven't done well with his health needs. His personal doctor is even frustrated with how little the staff keeps her in the loop. The situation got worse during the Covid-19 pandemic. My dad, who can't see or hear, was stuck in his small room for weeks, which was harmful to him. They haven't been clear about their Covid-19 prevention measures. Protective gear like masks were enforced among the staff just recently; other places were quicker to act. They claimed to be checking on my dad, but from what he tells me, that doesn't seem true. We're not even allowed to visit him and they've barely made adjustments to follow social distancing rules. Even before the pandemic, I found myself asking them to clean his bathroom, which they should've been doing. This is not the place for you if you can't stand up for yourself.
