"Assisted Living Facility Earns High Praise for Comfort and Recommendation"
It's a really nice place. I'd definitely recommend it.

"Disappointed: Inadequate Care and Lack of Transparency at Elderly Home"
For over a year, my mom lived in the memory care unit of this facility. We noticed that as her health got worse, the quality of her care did too. They didn't bathe her, she had no clean clothes and her dirty laundry just kept piling up. Once, I found her drenched in her PJs in a dark room at 8:30 in the morning. This was after she'd had breakfast! Were they ignoring her? We often saw that the nursing aides just spent time at their desk while the elderly folks stayed in the lounge, watching TV. They had an activity schedule but it was never followed properly. Sometimes, they would hire new activity coordinators but they never lasted because the turnover was too high. We transferred her to another facility a year ago and it's been so much better. It's a huge difference. And shockingly, a staff member from the new place who recognized my mom told me that my mom used to fall a lot at the old facility but they never recorded it or told me. It's alarming. Please be careful.

We had a nice tour at Whitney Place. It felt like a good place for loved ones. The room layout was a bit odd, so we kept exploring.

"Chronic Staff Shortage Limits Visits at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is seriously short on staff. They always say they're too busy. We're only allowed to visit on Wednesdays and Fridays for just 15 minutes between 1:00-3:00 pm. They don't have enough people to help bring the patients to see us. There's only ever one staff member keeping an eye on visitors, no matter how many people come. It makes me wonder what they're doing inside if they're not with the residents. And no visiting at all on the weekends. Can you believe they think it's okay, ignoring the fact that some people work weekdays and can only make it over the weekend? And then there's the ridiculous rule – only 15 minutes for each visit. This just breaks my heart.

"Good Safety but Poor Communication"
The community did a good job keeping my mom safe, and there haven't been any cases of Covid-19. But they don't communicate well with families. We almost never get updates or information about my mom's care. We have to ask directly to get any information from the staff.

"Mixed Experience at Whitney Place Assisted Living for Mid-Stage Dementia"
Whitney Place is okay for folks with mid-stage dementia who can still handle things on their own. The staff doesn't hover too much. Sometimes, they have disagreements with the residents. Everyone has their job tasks and sticks to them. Like, there's a person in charge of activities who arranges social gatherings, painting sessions, and singing events. The caregivers focus on daily needs and serving meals rather than joining in activities. But, the Care Coordinator is really great and stays updated on everything happening.

"Declining Care and Constant Change at Whitney Place Westboro"
Over the four years, my mom lived at Whitney Place Westboro, the quality of care and food have seriously declined. Lots of the aides are focused on completing tasks, but they often seem pretty indifferent. The care isn't tailored to the resident's individual needs. In my personal view, I don't think the staff are properly trained about dementia, and they aren't able to fully understand or address the different ways it affects people. Don't just judge the place by its fancy exterior. They're seriously lacking in quality care, real communication, and genuine compassion. Plus, the management seems to change all the time.

"Quality Concerns with Meals, Otherwise Positive Experience"
My mother recently moved into this community, and so far, everything is going well for her. The place is clean, and they offer a great activity program which I hope she'll join when she's ready. The only issue she has is with the meals—they could use some improvement in taste and quality.

"Great care, fun activities, and a beautiful place to live"
At Whitney Place, the Tapestry Program has been great for my mom. She now has a new friend in her shared suite after living alone for so long. The staff is well-trained and always have fun activities and trips planned. The food tastes good, and the place is clean and pretty. I’d pick this place for myself!
