"AlfredHouse Facility Horrendous: Poor Care and Expensive for Basic Needs"
Throughout my many years of dealing with assisted living facilities, I've never run into so many problems in one place as I did at AlfredHouse. My own dealings were with a single location, but this company is a family operation. The person in charge of the assisted living sites, who happens to be the founder's son, oversees multiple locations, and I honestly can't see how he could possibly manage all of them effectively. Starting from the first day, he hardly showed any concern about my mother's needs. He told me I should discuss everything with the main caretaker. There was no overview of her care plan, nothing. Their marketing person gave me assurance that my mother's dietary requirements would be handled, but once my mother moved in, that promise was broken. I ended up having to supply what she needed out of my own pocket. The caretaker did whatever she wanted, putting my mom's health in danger. When I complained to the assisted living manager, I was met with rudeness and hostility. After only a week, instead of trying to solve the many issues at the home, he started shouting at me over a phone call. He stated that AlfredHouse was not suited for my mother's needs, that I should hire a personal caregiver for her, and that I should move her out. Her needs are actually quite basic—toilet use, a vegetarian diet, and proper medication dispensing. It's shameful that AlfredHouse could not provide these services for 6K/month. All that money gets you is cheap food, ineptitude, and zero interaction beyond watching TV. I strongly recommend everyone steer clear of AlfredHouse.

"Avoid AlfredHouse: Overpriced, Incompetent, and Unwelcoming"
Throughout my experiences with assisted living facilities, I've never come across as many problems as I did at AlfredHouse. This is a family-owned company, and their lack of professionalism is evident. The manager, who is the founder's son and oversees several locations, really dropped the ball. From the start, he didn't seem worried about my mom's well-being, instructing me to speak with the main caregiver instead. There was no talk about a care plan or anything. Before my mom moved in, the marketing director gave me his word that her dietary needs would be met. But once she was there, I was told I had to provide her special food, footing the bill myself. The caregiver didn't follow my instructions, putting my mom's health at risk. Whenever I complained to the manager, his response was hostile. In just one week, instead of working to fix the problems, he began screaming at me over the phone. He argued AlfredHouse couldn't meet my mom's needs, and I needed to hire a personal aide and find her a new place to live. But her needs aren't complicated — regular toileting, a vegetarian diet, and correctly administered medication. It's shameful that AlfredHouse can't provide these basic services, especially when they charge a whopping 6K per month. All you get for such a steep fee is the cheapest food, uncaring staff, and no engagement beyond watching TV. My advice? Do everything you can to steer clear of AlfredHouse.
