"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facility"
Our experience here has been good overall. The people who work in the office might not know everything, but the other staff like those at the front desk, in the dining area, and the cleaners are nice and willing to help. We chose this place because it offers both assisted and independent living choices. We decided on independent living but also have the option to add assisted services if we need them, for an extra charge.

"Helpful assistance, cramped bathrooms, varied activities, good living spaces."
The facility helps families with medication and activities, but small bathrooms hinder wheelchair access.

""Deplorable Service, Constant Odor, and Cold Food: Avoid this Facility""
It reeks of pee all the time. The workers there just don't seem to bother. The meals they serve are consistently cold. Horrendous service overall. I highly advise not stepping foot in this place.

"A Caring and Peaceful Place: Aspenwood’s Wonderful Community and Care"
I feel sad when I see negative reviews about Aspenwood. My mom has lived there for over ten years, and any issue she's had was always handled quickly and kindly. I remind myself that not all assisted living places are the same what feels right for one person might not for another. Aspenwood may not be fancy, but that's okay because my mom isn’t either! We wanted a quiet, safe place with excellent care, and Aspenwood has delivered that. The Residents' Council meets every month to talk about the dining room, housekeeping, and other services. In 11 years, my mom never felt the need to go, but when I attended a few times, I saw that small issues, like maintenance or missing dinner items, were rare and fixed quickly. The nursing staff treats everyone with great care, almost like family. If you visit Aspenwood, whether alone or with a staff member, you'll see how clean, peaceful, and safe it is every day. I’d be happy to welcome you personally because I know most of the well-loved residents!

"Poor Food, Rude Staff, and Neglectful Management at Assisted Living Facility."
I live here and it's just really frustrating. The meals always seem to be cold and the folks working in the dining room don't have good manners. The upkeep isn't good at all. I've made countless requests but nothing changes. The person in charge doesn't appear to care about our needs. He should really find another job.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place seems okay at first, but once you sign the papers, things take a turn. The assistant they assign is completely clueless and can't find answers to anything. It's all very unprofessional. After my dad made his deposit, we hit roadblock after roadblock. Although we're settled now, I'm considering other options. Really miss [Removed] and his awesome staff!

"Look elsewhere! Unprofessional and clueless staff here!"
This spot seems ok until you officially join. After that, they hand you off to a clueless helper who doesn't know or do anything. It's super unprofessional. Once my Dad paid his deposit, there were problems galore. Even though we've finally settled in now, I'm definitely considering other places! We really miss and his crew - they were absolutely fantastic!

"Aspenwood's Caring Staff and Management Make a Difference"
The new management at Aspenwood is way better than before, no matter what others say. Joey, the Executive Director, and Sharon in Sales were here in 2007 and came back home. You can tell they love taking care of people. The staff has been very responsive to my mom's every need, even though she can be a bit difficult sometimes! I would recommend Aspenwood to anyone looking for a place for their parent or loved one.

"Extreme Dissatisfaction with Assisted Living Facility"
I'm truly discouraged with this care home. When Ryan handled things here, it was much better. He genuinely cared for the residents. He remembered everyone's names, was always approachable, and made sure folks felt cherished. If any struggles arose, Ryan worked diligently to rectify them promptly. Things are now vastly different. The people in charge seem indifferent to the residents' needs. Promised repairs are neglected. The individuals in control have minimal interactions with the residents. The kitchen often lacks food and their transportation is insufficient. The kitchen staff and maintenance team are overworked and understaffed. This situation needs urgent resolution! Someone must step up, show sincere concern for the residents and improve the present conditions.

"Aspenwood Assisted Living Facility"
My folks stayed at Aspenwood for 2+ years. Initially okay, but staff turnover was high, except for the maintenance guy. They lost good folks. New boss struggles to find capable replacements. No participation from the director in resident meetings. The building is old 25+ years and needs an upgrade, especially considering the high cost. Water pressure is low, and hot water is scarce for everyone. HVAC units often malfunction. Windows fog up due to broken seals. Old water valves make fixing leaks difficult. Meals mainly consist of chicken. Considering new options.

"New Management Leads to Decline in Aspenwood Assisted Living's Quality."
My folks have been at Aspenwood for a couple of years now. Things started fine but all the staff, except the maintenance guy, are new now. Some great employees are gone. The new boss doesn't seem to be able to hire competent folks. He also doesn't join resident meetings to listen and share ideas. The building, over a quarter-century old, could use a makeover, especially given the steep costs. The latest problem has been low water pressure and a lack of hot water for everyone. There've been other issues too - broken heating and cooling systems, foggy windows due to poor seals, and ancient water valves that mean if a tap leaks, part of the building's water has to go off. As for food, I hope you're a fan of chicken and lots of it. We're looking for a new home...

"Mixed Experience at Aspenwood Assisted Living"
My mom moved into Aspenwood after a long search. We picked a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment so she could do laundry herself. The staff was really nice they let us have a free washing machine someone had left behind. Otherwise, there are community washers and dryers, plus you can pay to have your laundry done. The food is really good, but the dining room closes early. For the price, I wish they served two meals a day instead of just one. Our apartment had some issues, and it's taking a while to get them fixed. One thing to know: the bathtubs have a cut-out for easy entry, so you can't take a bath. We're trying to get a BathFitter tub installed, but it hasn't been approved yet. We've used the bus service, and it's very helpful. Overall, Aspenwood is pricey but nice, and we're glad Mom's there.

"Mixed Feelings about Aspenwood Assisted Living"
My mom moved into Aspenwood after looking everywhere. We got a two-bedroom with a washer. The staff was nice and let us use a washer for free. There's community laundry too, or they can do it for a fee. The food is good, but the dining room closes early. For the price, I wish they served two meals a day. There were some issues with the apartment, and it's taking a while to fix them. The bathtubs have a cut-out for walking in, so you can't take a bath. We're trying to get a BathFitter tub, but it's not approved yet. The bus service is good though. Overall, it's pricey, but nice, and we're glad Mom's there.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
Jonathon Ellis was really helpful, but after we moved in, it felt like they got us in with flashy talk and then left us alone. There wasn't any orientation or welcoming. They didn't help us fit in, which is still a problem. The occupational therapy, physical therapy, and nursing staff were quick to help and she's happy with them. However, the personal care and aides are inconsistent. Some are great, friendly, and helpful, but others aren't as nice and don't seem eager to assist. No one explained what they could or would do for us. She likes the meals, especially the soup. We appreciated that all the apartments had kitchens.

"Aspenwood is a great place to live"
I checked out about 20 senior living places, and Aspenwood stood out. The apartments are big and well-kept. Walking into the building feels like stepping into a fancy hotel. Every staff member I've met is friendly and helpful. I had the chance to eat in the dining room twice, and the food was really good. There are plenty of activities in the community, plus many off-site options too.

"Great facility, attentive staff, and comprehensive services. 4.5/5"
Overall: 4.5/5. The facility is close, nice-looking, and fits his needs. The staff is very attentive and responds well to our requests. They treat our uncle with care, meeting his needs. It's pricey, but they do a great job. They offer a wide range of services and activities suited to their abilities and interests, without being pushy.

"Nice Staff, But Old Looking Facility with Unfamiliar Atmosphere"
The people working there were pretty nice, but the whole place just looked old and not well taken care of from the outside, even though they said they'd fixed it up. The place felt kinda boring and just... well, it seemed like nobody really cared. Plus, I don't think that the guy I met knew the names of the people living there, and they didn't really act like they knew him well or liked him much.

"Not Ideal for Mom, but Friendly Staff and Happy Residents"
I don't think it's a great choice for my Mom because the apartments seem a bit small, especially if she has her dog. I believe a more rural setting would be better. However, the staff is very friendly, and the residents seem happy. There are lots of activities, and everything is well-kept.
