"Subpar Care and Unkept Facility at Brightview Assisted Living"
Just recently, my loved one left Brightview and I couldn't be more relieved. If they hadn't left, we wouldn't have discovered how poorly they were cared for at this place. At their new facility, a medical check-up revealed their ears were stuffed with wax and their dental condition screamed of neglect. Clearly, Brightview wasn't brushing their teeth! What's more, their room was never properly cleaned. Food crumbs were often left scattered for weeks, dust was never cleared and the bathroom was in a repulsive state. Even if there was an accident, they'd just use a Swiffer mop. And we all know that doesn't really clean anything. Dirty clothes were just thrown in a hamper, which led to a constant foul odor filling up the room. And they always left that mop in the bathroom! If Brightview made a care plan for my family member, it hardly lasted. If something wasn't working, they'd put the blame on my loved one instead of admitting their lack of effort. We were patient for over three years here, constantly asking for room maintenance like a fresh paint job. Our requests fell on deaf ears every time. Oh, and did I mention how ridiculously expensive this place is? It's just not worth it. There are far better and more compassionate assisted living facilities out there. We are so much happier now after moving to one of them. The change in care is like day and night! Do your research before choosing a place! Don’t let Brightview fool you and expect them to deny any criticism!

"Shockingly Poor Conditions Within Brightview Assisted Living Center"
In the past week, don't be deceived by first impressions. We had a family member living in this facility, who moved out just yesterday. We would be oblivious to the poor services they received, if they remained here. During a medical check-up at their new home, doctors informed us of neglected conditions such as impacted earwax and deteriorated dental health, implying lack of regular assistance with cleaning and brushing. It's apparent that Brightview never prioritized cleanliness. Weeks-old food crumbs littered the room, dust accumulated, and the bathroom was never properly cleaned. If an accident happened, a mediocre swiffer mop was their only solution. The dirty clothes were thrown in a hamper that filled the room with bad smells. Ironically, that very mop was always stationed in the bathroom. Whenever they proposed a strategy for my family member's care, it was only good for a week. When the plan didn't work out, they conveniently shifted the blame onto the patient rather than acknowledging their lack of consistency. Our relative spent over three years in these conditions. We repeatedly requested a room repaint but it never materialized. Their response was always postponing commitment to rectify. They gave no indication that it was an unreasonable or undoable request. Just so you know, they charge exorbitant fees, which doesn't represent the services delivered. Luckily, we found other assisted living facilities that genuinely care for their residents and provide decent services at appropriate value. We implore you to thoroughly investigate before choosing a place for your loved ones. Brace yourself for a potential denial of this review from them.

"Great care and activities, but few options for male residents"
My mother-in-law has been living here for a few months, and we’re really happy with the care she’s getting, how attentive the staff is, and the fun activities available. We’ve heard some complaints, including from her, that the food quality seems to have dropped since the new Director started. Personally, I haven’t noticed this change and think some residents might just complain about small things. Brightview also hosts special meal events, like Mardi Gras and Easter, to encourage family visits. My mother-in-law especially likes the music performances. My only concern is that there aren’t many activities geared toward male residents. Overall, we feel we made the right choice with Brightview.

"Mixed Feelings at Brightview Catonsville, MD"
My mom's been at Brightview Catonsville a month. It's tough for her. She's getting used to it but still grumbles about stuff. Luckily, the cleaner popped by to take out her trash and guide her to dinner. Since Mom doesn't eat much, it's a big deal. I've had to ring a few times to sort things out. Also, her faith means a lot to her, but they've forgotten to take her to Mass twice. Noticed the washer and dryer are old and grubby. They need upgrading. When I've called about Mom, they've been professional and polite. Thanks for following up.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Helpful Staff and Pleasant Environment at Brightview Assisted Living"
A staff member right away said this place might not be right for my parents, but she was super helpful and directed us to great resources. She even called other places to see if we could visit. She also told us about a group that helps families apply for Veterans' benefits at no cost. Brightview itself looked really nice, and all the staff, not just Ms. Harms, were really friendly. It seemed like a great place to live.

"Memory care section promising, lacks kitchen; extra charges for amenities."
The memory care part seems okay. It's like staying in a studio apartment but without a kitchen. They charge extra for phone and cable TV.
