"Budget Constraints Influence Choice of Community"
We visited Brightview White Marsh, and they made a positive impression. However, due to budget constraints, we opted for another community.

"Mother's Distressing Complaints About Brightview Assisted Living Facility"
My mom has been living at Brightview since February 2016. At first, I had only positive things to say about this place and its workers. However, my visit to mom yesterday has me really worried. I'm concerned for two reasons. Firstly, mom, for the first time, says she's scared to stay at Brightview. She's not just a little scared, she's extremely frightened. I know her mental state is part of it, but there's a bigger problem. It looks like the staff has changed and so has their attitude. I didn't see the friendly exchange between staffers and seniors that used to be there. Now, they seem more focused on each other and their phones than those in their care. They didn't assist mom, they just moved her around. They didn't help her get dressed, they just tossed clothes on her bed. I found mom sitting alone in a hallway, wearing dirty pajamas. Which leads me to my second issue. Secondly, the laundry. When mom moved in, she had nice clothes. Her wool sweaters have been thrown into the washing machine and have shrunk down to doll-sized. Her clothes are returned from laundry with food stains. It's like they either aren't washed, or the machine is overstuffed and clothes don't come out clean. Clothes are just shoved into any drawer. Her clothes are so wrinkled, she can't wear them. I hope my visit to Brightview was just a bad day, but I'm seriously worried. I'm starting to feel like mom isn't being taken care of properly.

"Good location and staff, but lacks Independent Living and storage"
This was my third choice. The location is convenient and the prices are reasonable. However, they don’t offer Independent Living and there isn’t much storage space. The staff and the place are very nice.

"Brookdale Kenwood: Poor Care, Overmedication and High Costs"
I must say, Brookdale was absolutely awful for my father. As soon as he was admitted, they began giving him a laxative, even though he didn't require it. We weren't informed about this at first and, eventually, he ended up in the hospital. Despite having solid evidence, they denied giving it to him. They further increased our expenses by adding $850 a month for a two-person lift because he had become weak due to their oversight. Additionally, they medicated him with several drugs and made changes to his prescription without notifying us. For the most part, they lied and their communication was extremely poor. The care they provided was barely adequate, and the staff’s attitude was appallingly indifferent. We eventually moved my dad to a different facility. There, they removed three drugs from his treatment plan and lowered the dose of another. He's doing much better now and it costs us $2000 less every month. Brookdale Kenwood was a terrible experience for our family and my dad. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Disappointed
"BVWM Not Recommended: Poor Staff, Lack of Care, Odor Issues"
Chose BVWM for looks, made a mistake. More than half of top employees left in under 2 years and there's always someone new. It's a nice place if you can look after yourself, but not if you need help moving, bathing, or you can't control your bladder. The bedroom and restroom smelled like pee (and not just in this one apartment). The residential assistants hurt because they're not trained well and never answer their pendants. The food's good, the place is nice. If they fixed their staff issues, it could be a great place. Found a better, less crowded place close by.

"Friendly Staff and Happy Residents"
The staff knew a lot about their community. During our tour, we saw happy residents participating in activities. I really liked our visit and would definitely recommend this place.
