"Diabetic Care Concerns at Charter Facility"

I wouldn't recommend this facility for diabetics like my uncle. Their diabetic care is inadequate. I chose Charter for its friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere.

"A Clean, Friendly Choice"

Clean, friendly staff, no urine odor. Recommended for families.

"Beautiful Place, But Watch Out for Extra Charges"

At Charter, you have to look past the pretty appearance. The cleaning staff isn't great. I often had to change my brother's sheets myself. They charge for everything once you move in. However, the Activity Director is excellent.

"Facility Needs Updates and Upgrades"

We toured Charter Senior Living at Woodholme Crossing, and they were not updating fast enough. The place looked old.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living, Watch Out for Costs"

It's been a good experience overall. My family member is happy there. Activities are great. The price seems high, especially extra charges for hearing assistance. We felt surprised by additional costs after moving in. Advice: stay vigilant. Initial promises differed from reality. Oversight is crucial. Staff promises quick action on concerns. Activities boost spirits well.

"Friendly Assisted Living Community with Room for Improvement"

It took us some time to get used to this community after moving. The people are friendly, and you can easily connect with the staff. There's also an open policy with the director. While it could be better, other people still consider this community one of the better ones.

"Memory Care Outdoor Space Disappointingly Small, Staffing Ratio Inadequate"

The place was kinda small, especially the outdoor area for folks with memory issues. And there weren't enough staff for the number of people living there.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Good Staff, Fun Activities, Food Concerns"

This place has nice staff and tidy rooms. They offer fun stuff like bingo, board games, and singers visiting. There's even happy hour! But, if you eat late, the fancy food might be gone.

"Severe Staff Shortage and Elevator Problems"

Brookdale has helped my mom in many ways, but there’s a serious lack of staff. Residents wait too long for pendant calls, which could be life-threatening. They need more caregivers. Elevator issues are frequent.

"Small, Safe, and Single Rooms—A Decent Choice at Brookdale"

Brookdale is okay. My mom feels safe there, and the caregivers are friendly and attentive to her needs. I appreciate that they handle laundry, but I do need to vacuum her room and ask for toilet paper occasionally. It’s a bit disappointing that her trash can was discarded. The small environment is preferable to the atmosphere at Sunrise, and I love the single rooms—they keep my mom out of trouble!

"Horrible Wait Times and Low Staff at Expensive Facility"

Terrible facility! My folks lived there for a couple of years and despised it. They seriously didn't have enough staff. Folks shell out tons of money each month to stay there, expecting they'll get help with everyday tasks. Before you sign up, they promise that after you hit your call button, it'll only be around 10 to 15 minutes before a helper reaches you. If that happens, it'd be like hitting the jackpot. Too often, you're waiting half an hour to an hour--if a helper comes at all. Truly shameful.

"Brookdale: Overpriced and Understaffed, Disappointing and Frustrating"

My parents chose Brookdale when my dad's Parkinson's got too severe for my mom to handle alone. But, it turned out the place didn't have enough staff. Dad often had to wait for up to an hour after hitting his help button. Even after telling the director, nothing changed. There were a lot of residents in wheelchairs who required help from the workers to go to and from meals. This was frustrating because of the long wait times. Usually, there were only four helpers for around 80 residents, a lot of them needing help with showering, dressing, using the toilet and reaching the dining room. Do the math! On top of that, my folks were paying around $6,500 a month. Even the dining room was short on help. Getting someone to take an order was a hassle in itself as the dining room was undersized. They had to run two seatings just to feed everyone. It was often hard to finish eating before they started moving people out. In plain words, it was a terrible place!

"1^"

We checked out several communities nearby. Most were okay, but some were too big or pricey. Luckily, we found this place with a shared suite that fit Mom's budget. The staff has been helpful and friendly. Mom enjoys the activities and balanced meals.
