"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is good. However, there were some issues due to understaffing for cleaning and maintenance tasks. Communication with family improved after initial glitches. The move-in process was a bit chaotic, lacking clear instructions.

"Convenient, Clean, and Caring Facility for Mom"
My sister chose this place because it's near her, and she can visit before and after work. The place seemed clean and well-lit, and they offer the services my mom might need. We liked the care level, activities, and the fact that they had a room on the first floor for Mom.

"Bad review of Charter's elderly care; poor care, cleanliness, food quality."
An elderly friend of mine, who was 99, lived at Charter in Level 3 care (bound to her bed and needing constant attention) for the past year. Thankfully, she's been moved from there now. From what I understand, if you can take care of yourself, the care at Charter is okay – this is according to another friend at the residence who is more independent. But for someone who needs a lot of care, like my friend did, I would not recommend this place at all. The nursing staff, and the care they gave was bare minimum, definitely nothing above and beyond. I did not sense any warmth from them. Plus, when my friend needed assistance, it was often a wait of 30 minutes or more after she pushed the call button. The only employees I noticed demonstrating kindness were the dietary and maintenance staff, who established a nice connection with my friend, who is fully aware mentally. And let's talk about the cleanliness. When we moved my friend, it was shocking. The place was disgusting. I doubt her bed sheets had been changed for weeks. There was dust piled up almost an inch thick under the bed and behind furniture. Then there was the food; it was truly bad. Every dinner seemed to consist of some weird gray meat and potatoes. Not appetizing at all. We initially had high hopes that Charter would be a good place for my dear friend. Unfortunately, we were sorely let down.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place isn't ready for folks who need help moving around, especially those using walkers or wheelchairs. They don't even have call buttons for assistance. The staff is a mixed bag—some are great, while others aren't. The Director is fantastic, but she can't be everywhere.

"Poor Customer Service and Communication at Assisted Living Facility"
My grandma, who doesn't understand English and comes from Iran, has been living in this facility for 12 years. Recently, I visited her over the holidays and asked for parking. The lady who works there, who acts like she's running the country, refused to give me a pass. She said only residents with a title can get one, and wouldn't give me a general lease contract either. I've noticed that her customer service towards others is terrible as well. Many residents have the same issues and she ignores their emails and phone calls! I don't recommend this place for older folks. Staff at senior living facilities should treat their residents with kindness and offer exceptional customer service, especially since seniors need the most care.

"Nice Staff, But No Showers in Memory Care"
The lady who gave us the tour and helped us afterward was really nice and I liked working with her. But the memory care rooms didn't have showers, and that was something we needed.

"Satisfactory Care at Charter Senior Living Towson"
Charter Senior Living Towson has been good for us. The food is okay. Our loved one had a behavior issue, but it's understandable given her condition. Overall, we're satisfied with the care they offer.

"Facility Oversells, Leaves Unsettling Impression"
They were really pushing to make a sale. They only highlighted the fancy parts of the facility, and we didn't feel comfortable.

"Disappointing Tour at Charter Assisted Living"
Our visit to Charter was disappointing. The place felt too much like a hospital, especially the memory care area on the second floor. They didn't have any outdoor space for those residents. As we walked through, everyone seemed out of it, like they were on strong medicine.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short, Lacks Personal Touch"
We looked at a virtual tour, but wished we could see it in person. Because of that, we didn’t see much, but what we saw wasn’t great. It looked dark and old, and the room was dull gray. The big issue for us was that our family member would have to share a bathroom. What got us interested was their network of doctors and our past good experiences with them.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
This place costs a bit much for what you get, especially with the food. But the care they give my loved one is good, and they're happy here. The gardens are nice and always look welcoming. Everyone I've spoken to has been friendly. Since Charter took over, communication has slipped. Paperwork updates and COVID info have been slow.

"Mixed feelings about assisted living facility's amenities and cost"
This place looked nice and cheery. People were friendly and food tasted good. But the outside space was tiny, nowhere to stroll, and no cool areas to explore. Plus, it's pricey.

"Concerns Raised Over Towson Assisted Living Facility Safety"
Who's keeping an eye on security at this place? There's some weird folks just showing up here for no good reason. Got cameras here? And if you do, are they working well and set up in the right places? This place doesn't seem safe for the residents or the folks working here. I've even seen stuff get damaged and, as far as I can tell, the cameras didn't catch any of it. Haven't heard of any bosses stopping by to check on these problems. What are the rules here for keeping the place safe and does everyone here follow them? I'm really worried here, not just for the person I know, but everyone who lives and works at the Towson location. Keeping everyone safe should be the most important thing, along with taking good care of the people living here. I want this review to make a difference and help make the place safer for everyone.

"Unfit For Mental Health Cases - Family Member Forced Out"
My family member was forced to leave. After a mishap, they sent my family member to the hospital and told me they couldn't come back. They did a review and made me think my family member would do well at this place. I believed they could take care of her needs. Though they did their best to accommodate, one of the nurses was rude from the beginning. In the end, things turned sour. They're not equipped to manage individuals with mental health concerns, but they're okay with those with memory troubles.

"Mom's happy, so I'm happy"
My mom has been at Brookdale for almost two months. I checked out a lot of places and used to work in this field. I knew what I wanted for my mom, and Brookdale delivered. Mom is very happy, the staff is wonderful, and my heart is happy because my mom is happy. They say there's no place like home... until you call Brookdale home.

"Affordable Care, Friendly Staff, Worth Considering for Family Needs"
I visited this place with my family. The people there were friendly and helpful, and they could tell us about the care they provide. I think it's a good option for people who can afford it, but it was a bit pricey for us. Other families might want to check it out to see if it fits their needs for good care.

"Needs Improvement in Memory Care Supervision"
There are some problems with the staff. The care plan isn’t always done right. I thought there would be more people watching over the residents in the memory care area. They don’t stick to the activity plan like they’re supposed to in memory care.

"Friendship Suites Offer Privacy with Shared Spaces; Friendly Atmosphere"
The Friendship Suites at this place are great because each resident gets their own bedroom but shares a kitchen, bathroom, and sitting area. My grandmother is new here, and so far, everyone seems really friendly and happy.

"Friendly staff and good amenities, but expensive and small rooms"
The staff was very friendly. There were dining rooms on each floor with hydration stations and snacks between meals. The on-site chef had a large menu. A studio costs $3900, while a small one-bedroom is $4500. They don’t allow individual pets but have a community pet. They offer an exercise program. I felt the rental rates were high for the small rooms with average amenities, and there was no pool, balcony, patio, gym, whirlpool, or four-season sunroom. They have five levels of care starting at $700 for level one and $2750 for level five. The rooms I saw were too small for a couple and only fit a twin bed with average-sized closets. It costs an extra $1675 for a spouse.
