"Caring Staff and Comfortable Environment at The Terraces Assisted Living"
The Terraces make sure my parents feel comfortable. The staff is really nice and pays attention to them. I think all the changes they're making to improve the place are good.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Inconsistent Staff, Concerns About Care"
When I talked with The Terraces at Westminster at first, I felt like they were working together well to help my mom. But after she moved in, I noticed that the staff isn't always the same. The people who work at the front desk seem experienced and spend time with the residents. But I have worries because sometimes they don't do what they're supposed to every day. I see a schedule for when they're supposed to do things like laundry and meals, but it doesn't always happen when it should, or sometimes not at all.

"Pleasant facility with friendly staff; food might not suit everyone"
We picked The Terraces at Westminster because we liked what they have and how much it costs. The place and the people who work there are really nice and friendly. My mom doesn't like the food much, but I think she's just picky.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
The staff here are awesome, especially the nurses on each floor. I think the cleaning staff could do a bit better. Everyone is so nice. The building looks cozy and tidy, but the rooms could be nicer. The porches are lovely. The cost is reasonable compared to others.

"Great Staff, Clean Space, But Location a Barrier"
I visited The Terrace at Westminster and had a great time. The staff were super friendly. I had three things I was looking for: 1. Making sure my brother’s needs could be met, 2. Good food because he’s picky and needs to gain weight, and 3. Being in a good spot. The place was small but tidy, and they could take care of my brother well. We went with another place because all of my brother's doctors and appointments are in Pennsylvania, and The Terrace is in Maryland. If it was in Pennsylvania, it would’ve been our top choice.

"Great Location and Care, but Needs Better Communication"
We chose The Terraces because it was recommended to us for its location and the type of care they offer. The building and layout are the nicest we saw compared to other places we visited. The cost is also reasonable. There have been a few small issues, and their communication could be better. Overall, we are happy with the experience, and my mom is adjusting well.

"Mixed Feelings About Sunrise Assisted Living"
Our family visited Sunrise for an in-person tour, and we were initially excited because it’s close to our home. However, it felt quite institutional, like an old manor. We worried about our loved one moving around the rooms with her walker. The outside could use some improvement. On the bright side, the staff members were all friendly and did a great job during the tour.

"Small and Homey Preferred Over Hotel-Like"
We thought Sunrise was too pricey. It felt like a hotel. The place we chose felt cozy. Sunrise felt too big. I knew my loved one wouldn't like it. It wasn't their fault. Some people enjoy big places. We chose based on our loved one's preference.

"Cozy Assisted Living: Clean, Good Food, Some Care Concerns"
My grandma stayed at a small place where she shared a bathroom, common room, and a tiny bedroom. It was clean and nice, and the food was yummy. But we had some problems with the care she got, so we brought her back home. Still, I'd tell other people about this place.

"Great location, good food, but not ideal for special needs"
We chose Sunrise of Carroll because it's close to family and feels homey. The rooms are a bit small. The food is pretty good, served restaurant-style with two choices for each meal. Families should know Sunrise isn't great with special needs patients. I recommend it with some reservations. It's a great place if you're the right fit, but not if something goes wrong.

"Assisted Living Facility: Valuables Stolen During Mourning Period?"
My dad was well looked after at this place. However, he recently died, and while we were mourning, someone stole his pricey Bose stereo system from his secured room.

My mom is doing great at this place. It's pretty good, but could be better. They're looking after her well and making sure she's okay. I feel she's safe and being taken care of here.

"Negligent care and poor conditions at facility"
The staff here are impolite and don't act professionally. The residents barely get enough to eat. During the summer, the place gives off a horrible smell and bugs are everywhere. Those working seem to be more interested in chatting amongst themselves. Moreover, there have been instances when the nurses neglect to administer necessary medication to the residents.

"Dreadful Assisted Living Facility Allegedly Neglects Patients"
Avoid This Facility! My Aunt's Shocking Experience Here" Don't ever consider placing your loved ones here! During her stay, she came down with pneumonia five times. Administering her prescribed medicines was neglected, and she went without her neutralizer treatments for five full days. In March, after we took her for a doctor's visit in the afternoon, the doctor decided she was sick enough to be hospitalized. Shockingly, when I went there the next day to fetch some of her things, they were completely unaware that she wasn't there! Who was supposed to be caring for her? Who should have been giving her evening and morning medications and treatments? Didn't anyone notice her missing at meal times? This place also ignored the doctor's instructions to contact him if her fever exceeded 101. Instead, they gave my aunt Tylenol for three long days despite her fever being over 102, all while not notifying her doctor. She had pneumonia! Her doctor advised us to report this facility to the state for neglecting their residents. Even the food was terrible. The menu wasn't reliable because their orders were incorrect. They even charged extra for Lactaid milk, which seems outrageous while paying over $6,000 a month to stay there. Dinners were monotonous, with a choice of just two items that repeated every third day. Despite living there for a year, my aunt lost over 50 pounds. The facility nurse told us monitoring residents' food intake, weight gain or loss, or diet was not part of their job. My aunt wasn't even motivated or reminded to have her meals! This place claims to assist memory care patients. Shouldn't they be reminding patients to eat and take care of themselves?

"Friendly, Attentive Staff"
At Emeritus at Westminster, the staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. However, the food service needs improvement—they often don’t serve what’s listed on the menu.

"Good Value"
Emeritus at Westminster isn’t cheap, but it’s a better value than other options we considered. The staff is great, but the doctor could improve. Whenever I need help, they’re accommodating. Despite the tough transition for my 97-year-old dad, Emeritus has made it as good as possible.

"Mixed feelings: dim atmosphere, affordable rates, adequate staffing."
The place was just okay. It felt a bit gloomy and reminded me too much of a nursing home for my mom. On the bright side, the prices were really good, and I liked the size of the bedrooms. They have a registered nurse available 50-60 hours a week on-site and on call 24 hours a day. There are also certified nursing assistants and medication technicians available 24 hours a day. They provide care through all stages, including hospice, and each resident gets a pendant for emergencies.
