"Poor Care Leads to Negative Experience"
Because the helpers weren’t careful, my Dad had a bad fall. This caused him to go to the hospital and then to a rehab center. Not long after, he had to be in hospice care, and it all seemed to start with that fall. The person in charge of the office, [name removed], is pretty good at their job, but the helpers keep changing. The helpers aren’t trained well and they don’t really talk to the other staff. I never saw any fun activities happening. They didn’t hand out snacks unless you brought your own. Everyone just sits in the living room without talking to each other. My dad really didn’t like the time he spent there.

"Frustrated Review: Small Meals, Extra Fees, Inadequate Care & Misleading Location"
The staff seemed to show more patience towards the female residents. For those who struggle with fecal incontinence, this place may not be the best option. The meal sizes are quite small. This facility might be suitable for someone who doesn't need help with bathroom use and isn't incontinent. Those going for surgery or in need of respite could find it a temporary haven for their beloved. Also, the admission administration fee is equally added to the monthly fee. Despite trying to create a glamorous image by naming it 'Dulaney Valley Assisted Living in Hunt Valley MD', the place is actually nearer to and in Cockeysville, MD. Sure, it's conveniently located to Cockeysville & Phoenix, MD, but I suspect they lack enough kind, caring, and compassionate staff.

"Constant Staff Turnover and Poor Services Mar Assisted Living Facility"
This place keeps changing its staff, I always see new faces when I visit. My pastor has been wanting to visit, but they repeatedly tell her she can only come on Tuesdays and Thursdays which she can't manage. Also, my loved one has been losing too much weight here. He can't eat their food due to his dentures. They were supposed to adjust his meals, but they haven't. One of the caretakers who should be helping is always sleeping in a chair during my visits, and doesn't assist the residents when needed. I've been in other facilities with great activities and stimulation, but this place falls short. Furthermore, their expensive diaper service doesn't include wipes. I recommend buying your own diapers if your loved one stays here.

"Subpar Care and Detested Visitor Policy at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is truly awful and they should close it. The care my dear relative received was so bad, they had to relocate. Plus, nobody liked the rule that you needed to sharpen your pencil and schedule time to visit.

"Communication Issues Due to Staff Shortage"
Our biggest worry is how they talk to families, but we understand it’s because they’re understaffed.

"Caring Staff and Spacious Rooms at Dulaney Valley"
We picked Dulaney Valley because it was a rush, and it came highly recommended. It's super close to my job, so I could visit my uncle every day. Even during COVID, they made sure I could see him by bringing him to the door. The rooms are really spacious. When he ate there, he never complained about the food. But the best part? The staff—they're kind and awesome with my uncle. I'd totally recommend this community.

"Unfair billing and care prioritized less than profit"
My mom only stayed there for 2 weeks, but we had paid for a whole 2 months. No money was returned to us. She wasn't at the assisted living place most of the time, she was going in and out of the hospital. While their sales pitches were good, it seemed like they were more interested in our money than in properly caring for my mom.

"Troubles encountered trying to refund prepaid care services at Dulaney Valley."
My mom unfortunately passed away shortly after she had been admitted to Dulaney Valley Assisted Living in Hunt Valley. My dad had already forked over $6,000 in good faith for two months of expected care services. When he tried to recover the funds, he was curtly directed to refer to a contract that he has no memory of signing. His attempts to further discuss this issue with the owner of the facility have been fruitlessly bouncing off the walls of neglect, as his calls remain unanswered. Exhaustingly, he has been given nothing but a runaround, even though he had paid in hard cash. Now, the only option left appears to involve legal recourse, which is the furthest thing anyone desires at this grievous time. However, dad is critically in need of the money and there seems to be no other way out. It saddens me to think about the number of people who might potentially relent under this distressing situation, and thus unintentionally encourage this frustrating conduct by the owner.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Care"
They could do better with activities. I never see any. It feels like they just sit in front of the TV all day. But I’m not there in the morning, so maybe they do something then—I’m not sure. It’s okay, but my mom’s hair is always oily, and I think they’re understaffed due to too many residents. Still, they do care about the residents.

"Facility Needs More Activities and Staff, But Cares for Residents"
They need more activities. I never see any fun things happening. It feels like they just watch TV all day. But maybe they do stuff in the morning, I'm not sure. It's okay, but my mom's hair is always greasy, and I think they have too many people to take care of and not enough workers. But they do care about the people who live there.

"Cozy yet cramped assisted living with attentive staff"
This place is like a big old house. The people who take care of us seem nice and pay attention to us, but there's not much room. In the room where we do activities, the furniture is pushed against the walls so that everyone can fit. You have to climb stairs to get around. The bedrooms are okay, but most of them are for sharing.

"Surprisingly Pleasant Assisted Living Experience"
This place was really nice. The staff keeps it super clean. My mom got treated great here, even though she could be tough. She was a handful, but the staff handled her well. The Manager makes sure everything runs smoothly and looks after everyone. My mom got great care here, and I'm so glad we found it.

"Assisted Living Disappointment"
The place looked nice and we planned to stay long-term. However, shortly after moving in, they said our loved one wasn't a fit for their community. We had explained her issues clearly, and they said it wouldn't be a problem, but it was. It was really upsetting to go through the whole moving process just to leave a few days later.

"Good-looking Facility, Disappointing Experience"
We thought this place looked pretty good, and we were excited to stay there for a long time. But, just a few days after we moved in, they told us that our family member wasn't a good fit for their place. We had told them all about her problems, and they said it would be okay. But, it wasn't. It was really hard to move everything in and then have to move out just a few days later.
