"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
At first, I thought this place was great. The staff were friendly, the rooms were nice, and it seemed wonderful. But unfortunately, my mom’s things were stolen when she wasn’t there. Even though her room was locked, a facility worker went in to ‘tidy up,’ and items went missing. I reported it, but nothing changed. So, while it’s a nice place, don’t leave valuables there.

"Disappointing Care, Lovely Facility"
The place looked good, but the people who took care of my mom were bad. She was there for 17 days and got hurt three times and no one admitted it was their fault. My mom was scared to let them help her. We took her out right away. I wouldn't tell anyone to go to Commonwealth Senior Living at Cockeysville.

"Mixed Experience at Celebration Villa"
The old Celebration Villa of York was terrible, but maybe they've improved since the name change. I might have played a part in getting the top three staff members fired. It's essential to visit places and check them out before deciding where to put your loved ones.

"Poor Food, High Staff Turnover, Negligence on Medication and Care"
The meals here were disappointing, and it seemed they couldn't keep the same nurses around. My mom ended up with a different one all the time. Plus, they didn't change her medication in the last year, which really upset me. To top it off, she developed a bed sore that just wouldn't heal. On top of everything, one of the staff members was too aggressive and they had to let her go. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

"Not Ideal for Loved Ones"
Nice place, but didn't seem equipped for my loved one. No furnished rooms offered. Pretty location, but lacking in that aspect.

"Disappointing Facility with Locked Rooms and Dirty Kitchen"
The place was super sad. The employees seemed nice but they couldn't even open empty rooms with their keys. That's kind of scary. The kitchen was old and dirty, like it's just not okay. An employee told me that they're not going to be called Greenfield soon. I didn't ask why but I really hope they fix up the kitchen and doors.

"Underwhelming Features at Assisted Living Facility"
Check out the so-called "barbershop" and "beauty salon", make sure you witness the "devotional services" and "fitness classes" in action, and don't forget to visit the "kitchenette". Definitely spend some time on the patios and porches, and lounge in their so-called "comfortable seating areas".

"Poorly Trained Staff and Understaffed Facility Result in Inadequate Care"
Care managers" here are just minimum wage earners who have no more skills to care for the elderly than a fast food cashier. The term "care manager" is used instead of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) because, in truth, they lack certification. This facility covers up its understaffing by making one staff member handle two roles. For instance, if a care manager takes a weekend class to become a "medical technician", they claim to have a caregiver and a med tech in the building. But it's really just one person doing double duty, which results in less care and attention for the residents. As of October 2018, most people are juggling two roles. The lead nurse is also the health coordinator, the top dog has to also look after resident care, and the sales head is also running programs. With no dedicated maintenance staffer and a sole part-time cleaner, it feels like most roles are only halfway done with people stretched thin over two jobs.

"Not Everything As Advertised: Dig Deeper!"
Make sure to check out the so-called "fitness classes" they rave about. Find out from the folks living there if they can really use the "kitchenette" for cooking and baking. Do yourself a favor and ask to see the "beauty/barbershop." Don't forget to meet the "management staff" that they feature in the recent newsletter.

"Don’t Be Fooled, Know The Truth About This Assisted Living Facility"
Unannounced visits are a must at this place. Make sure you participate in the activities- it's the only way you'll know if they actually take place. A calendar full of activities doesn't necessarily mean they're happening. Try their food too. Speak with the residents. Ask the staff how long they've been working there and if they're CNA certified. Be sure other facilities get the same treatment. If your dear one is going to stay here, you should at least experience a day in their future life. Avoid falling for false impressions during "tours".... And oh, the $3000 “community fee” ain't set in stone– don't just cough it up!

"Unfulfilled Activity Promises and Untruths at Assisted Living Facility"
Take a drop-in visit to this place. Join in on the promised activities— if they even happen. (Just because they're on the schedule doesn't mean they're real.) Try the food. Chat with the folks living there. Ask the staff how long they've been working there, and whether they're CNA certified. Also, take time to check out other places. If you're planning on having your family member live at one of these places, you should experience it first-hand. A tour with new paint and full of lies can fool you.

"High Turnover Rate at Assisted Living Facility"
Make sure to visit this place more than once, at different times and days. You should also take the time to chat with the residents or their family members. Don't forget to ask for references and find out how long each employee has been working in their role at this facility. I can tell you, the turnover rate is pretty high. In just two years, they've gone through 4 executive directors, 2 nurses, 4 cooks, 3 maintenance people, 3 housekeepers and 4 activities staff. As for the caregivers, they've had so many, I've lost count. This facility struggles to hold onto its employees, and that should be a big red flag for you.

"Overpriced Facility Lacks Staff, Activities, and Specialized Care"
This place has no activities. They don't have enough staff. They don't give out snacks. Even though they charge more for their 'memory care' facility, there's no special care for memory.

"Poorly Trained Staff and High Turnover at Assisted Living Facility"
The people working here may be nice, but most of them don't have the right training or certifications, like CNA or GNA. Many of them leave after a short time, and they're always short-staffed.
