HeartFields Assisted Living at Frederick

"Comfortable Facility with Caring Staff"
I recommend asking other families for references. Also, be aware that the administration doesn’t communicate proactively. The facility is very comfortable, and my dad is happy there. Some staff members have become like family to him, which is significant. However, don’t rely solely on Heartfields for activities; plan regular visits to boost spirits. Lastly, the maintenance man is fabulous and has been incredibly helpful.

"Prolonged Waiting, Poor Service and Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
I saw residents at this facility waiting for breakfast for over 45 minutes. They weren't making friendly conversation during this time - instead, they grumbled about how slow the service was and how the food was sub-par. I saw one employee being really rude to a resident. If your mom or dad is going to stay here, they need to be in good health. I found the nursing care to be lacking. I never saw the doctor announced on the brochure. Most of their employees don't possess the right skills to realize when a resident's facing serious health issues and it's not just the regular, 'old people complain' kind of situation. Overheard staff telling the residents, 'We're too tied up, will attend you later', but they never returned. This Heartfields accepts residents who might do better at a fully supported care facility. That's just not right. Shortage of staff, too much money for what you get - it's not a good deal.

A Place For Mom Customer
"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
We were worried about the noise from Route 26, but it was tough to judge because there was a crew working nearby, making noise. The cost was higher than most others. We liked the cozy setting and small community. The room layouts and size were great, but we weren't sure about companion living. It didn't seem ideal for walks.

"Concerns Over Noise and Walkability at Cozy Facility"
We’re a bit worried about the loud sounds from Route 26 traffic. It was tough to tell how loud it really is because some people were cutting down trees near the road, making a lot of noise. The cost seems pretty high when you look at other places. But we do like that it’s a small and cozy place with not too many people – the space for each person seems great. The rooms are laid out nicely and they’re a good size. The rooms are decently sized, but it’s hard to say if living with a roommate would be okay. It doesn’t seem like the best place for taking walks.

"Convenient, but lacks some services and closer amenities."
I talked with the manager. The place is nice and easy to get around because everything is on the same level. But it's far from the hospital, doctors, and dialysis center. It doesn't offer as many services as Tranquility does. While the initial community fee is lower, the monthly fees are higher.
