"Memory Care Facility Falls Short on Staff and Amenities"
I believe memory care requires more staff to properly care for loved ones. The food is really bad here. She fell multiple times at Heartlands, and we worried because she couldn't call for help—she never remembered to. When we requested cameras to monitor her, they declined. I finally said she needs memory care, but it's depressing there. They rarely take residents out for activities. Overworked.

"Attentive Staff, Clean Environment; Food Needs Improvement"
This place has really nice people working here who care about you. They are friendly and pay attention to what you need. The building is always clean and looks good. The care they give is really good, and the nurses are super. But, the food could be better.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
the staff was super helpful, and the assisted living areas were lively. However, the memory care section seemed quieter.

"Active Assisted Living, But Memory Care Lacks Activities"
The place was really nice, and Anne told us a lot of helpful stuff. They seemed to do a lot of fun things in the assisted living part. But when we checked out the memory care section, there wasn't much happening.

"Homey and Caring Place for Dementia Patients"
I was surprised to see your note. It seems you haven’t been here long. The Bridges unit, as you call it, is not just a unit but home to my mom. The staff here has become part of our family. We like the room sizes because they aren’t overwhelming, which is important for someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s. You say the decor is boring, but we find it homey and soothing for mom. People with dementia need this kind of decoration. About people sitting around all day doing nothing… it seems you don’t spend much time here. This isn’t a cruise ship, but a place where my mom can get her physical, social, and spiritual needs met. I’m surprised by how many activities they have for all the different types of dementia they deal with. Before you “not recommend” this place, I suggest you spend more time here and maybe read a book like “The 36-Hour Day” (it helped me) to learn more about dementia. I know it’s hard to have a loved one move to a home, but you can rest easy knowing you’ve picked one of the best places. A concerned Daughter.

"Heartlands Severna Park: Excellent dementia care and intimate setting"
My mother-in-law has lived at Heartlands for several years. The care in the dementia area is excellent! They even send us pictures of events—yesterday, they had a wonderful tea party for the ladies. The staff is caring and always available to help. I chose Heartlands because it’s small and intimate.

"Inadequate Facility for Dementia Patients"
This place isn't ideal for folks with dementia. The Bridges section is awful. They just sit around doing nothing all day. It's tiny and the design is dreadfully dull. I won't advise this spot for dementia.
