Hillhaven Assisted Living

"Caring Assisted Living with Good Food and Full Assistance"
I had a good experience at this assisted living facility. They call promptly if your loved one complains of pain, and the nurse informs you about the proposed action. The location, just 1.5 miles from home, was a deciding factor for me. I’m still exploring home care options. The residents receive full assistance and seem well taken care of.

"“Hillhaven: Caring, Spacious, and Affordable!”"
Come visit Hillhaven! Their admissions person was amazing, even though she’s no longer here. The staff is fantastic—they really take care of my mom. We’re lucky to have her there. Her room is twice as big as her old place, with a huge bathroom and lots of windows. Plus, it’s affordable. What more could you want?

"Limited activities, good overall care"
Not enough stimulation for dementia patients; activities limited due to Covid. Friendly staff, sometimes hard to reach. Overall good care.

""Beware of Unprofessional Meridian-Owned Senior Healthcare Facility""
This place isn't owned by a family. It's the property of Meridian Senior Healthcare. The lack of professionalism here hits you right when you walk in. The rooms aren't cleaned daily—until I made a fuss about it. I'm an ex-nurse, so trust me when I caution you!

"Top-Notch Care at Hillhaven: Clean, Caring, and Engaging Facility"
I've stayed at Hillhaven three times this year twice for knee rehab and recently for shoulder rehab. I've had a lot of chances to watch how the staff interacts, both with me and with other residents. They really care about everyone there, whether they’re staying for rehab or living there long-term due to various physical challenges. The kitchen staff makes sure to respect dietary preferences, and the physical and occupational therapists are very thorough, taking their time with each person. The Social Activities coordinator, [name removed], goes out of her way to make sure all residents have games, reading materials, and activities to keep them engaged. The rooms and halls are always clean, with no unpleasant smells, and I've never seen a resident in anything less than a clean and well-cared-for condition. I’ve seen staff making sure residents who need help with eating get the support they need. I can't say enough good things about Hillhaven from my experience as a rehab patient. Compared to other nursing homes I’ve been in, Hillhaven is far better. FIVE STARS all the way!!!

"Caring staff and excellent care at Hillhaven"
My mom stayed at Hillhaven for skilled nursing and later, assisted living. The staff was very caring and attentive. I was really impressed by how every staff member was willing to help, even if it wasn't their job. I've worked in many hospitals and visited lots of nursing homes, and Hillhaven is one of the best!

"Excellent Care and Support at Hillhaven Highly Recommended!"
My mother stayed at Hillhaven for both skilled nursing and assisted living. We were very pleased with how caring and attentive the staff was. I was especially impressed by how everyone on the team felt responsible for helping out, even if it wasn’t their main job. I’ve worked in several hospitals and visited many nursing homes, and Hillhaven stands out as one of the best!

"Hillhaven: A Caring Home for All Generations!"
When my mom was looking for a place for my great aunt back in the 1980s, Hillhaven made her feel like royalty. It’s amazing to find staff who have been there for 30 years! Now my mom lives there, and I’ve told many friends and church members about Hillhaven when they needed a caring place for their loved ones. The whole facility feels welcoming, just like home. My mom also had rehab there, and they focus on one-on-one care, so she didn’t have to wait for the therapist. Hillhaven is family-owned and managed, with different care levels available, from skilled nursing to rehab and assisted living, plus personal help if needed. Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I always say without a doubt—Hillhaven!

"Limited Low Sodium Options; Otherwise Satisfactory Assisted Living"
Hillhaven doesn't provide low/no sodium meals. They offer No Added Sodium (NAS) meals but still serve high-sodium items like corned beef hash without regulating sodium. This flaw aside, we appreciate the facility's core services and overall quality.

"Hillhaven Good, But Lacks Low Sodium Food Option"
Hillhaven doesn't provide a low/no salt choice for its residents. They only have a No Extra Salt (NES) option. This just means they don't give salt shakers to those residents who have been told by their doctor to eat less salt. However, they still have meals like corned beef hash, and they don't limit how much salt is used while cooking it. Apart from this big problem, we really like the place. The basic services and overall grade would be better without this issue.
