"Friendly staff, but not suitable for mobility-impaired seniors."
Karen was really nice and answered our questions well. But this home wasn't right for my parents because it's old. They're fixing up each room when it's empty, though. When I first knocked on the door, I saw ashtrays full of cigarette butts on the front porch which is the smoking area and the trash can was full, too. That made me think this wouldn't be a good place for my parents. During the tour, we saw that the home has an upstairs with a chair lift for patients who have a room up there. The aides working there were very friendly. However, there were a couple of areas in the home where you had to go down two steps. The aides said they help clients get up and down, but my mom can't do steps, and I didn't realize the place wasn't all one level. They have other homes in Baltimore County, and they just bought this one last year. Maybe the other homes are in better shape. In my opinion, this home needs a lot of tender loving care.

"Positive Start at Assisted Living"
Things are going well after a week. The room is nice, food looks good, and staff is cheerful.
