""Unfulfilled Promises and Inadequate Care at Potomac Grace Assisted Living""
At first, Potomac Grace Assisted Living seemed like a good choice because the big rooms were clean and the staff seemed kind. But I worried if they really knew how to care for someone with ALS, like my mom. Turns out, my worry was justified. Even though the boss didn't even check my mom, she promised she could care for her. But after only 10 days, she admitted they couldn't. They still asked us to stay until the next bill was due, about six weeks later, but held onto our deposit. While we were there, mom's physical therapy got mixed up, there weren't many activities, and no one answered my questions. The medicine wasn't given properly, our visitors got hassled, and the boss was really mean to us. I wanted to take her to court for the deposit, but caring for an ALS patient takes up all your time. Potomac Grace is fine if your loved one is quiet, has few visitors, if family can't visit often and they have a sickness that's easy to manage. This was a terrible experience with this awful disease. Life can be tough in many ways, but it's crushing when caregivers break promises, especially when your loved one is dying and its hard on the family as well.
