"Met with the owner RN"
On April 18, 2014, I visited an assisted living facility and met with the owner, who is a registered nurse and has been managing the facility for the past six years. She relies on medical professionals like doctors and nurses to provide additional services. The facility is a single-story house with a license for seven bedrooms, five upstairs and two downstairs. However, the house seemed somewhat dimly lit and cramped. She arranges for an activity coordinator/physical therapist to visit one to two days a week, but most of the time, residents seem to just sit around. Nevertheless, she does take them out once a week for a meal or a visit to the mall. The price range of $5,000 seems reasonable. However, the chair lift from the first floor to the basement creates a narrow space and might be challenging for those with depth perception or mobility issues. The facility accepts assignment of benefits from long-term care insurance.
