"Great place, but watch out for hidden costs."
Sunrise of Severna Park is really great. The people working there are super friendly and the place looks good and clean. Just be sure from the get-go about how they figure out the cost. They seem to raise the price for every little thing the resident needs and they wanna bill you for stuff they say they provide but they don't. Moving in didn't give us any problems. Most importantly, my mom is really happy there.

Just as I figured. Awesome to have access to the therapy pool and workout area. An amazing library is nearby. Dinner's okay but breakfast has too many carbohydrates.

"Outstanding Staff and Activities at Sunrise of Severna Park"
My friend really loved her time at the Sunrise of Severna Park. She enjoyed all the fun stuff they did, like going to see the cherry blossoms, playing games like bingo and trivia, and listening to musicians who came to visit. The people who work there, especially the activities team, were full of energy and had great ideas. Everyone working there was awesome. The food was also good and healthy. We all thought it was an excellent place. In fact, one of my friend's family members even moved their loved one there because of how much my friend liked it.

"Incredible Care and Comfort at Sunrise Facility"
My wife wasn't at Sunrise for long because she was in the last stages of Alzheimer's, but I can't say enough about the amazing care she got. Every single person on the staff really put in the effort to make my wife, me, and our grown son feel safe and welcome. We really liked having the dog and cat wandering around the Memory Care spot! I can't thank the whole facility enough for doing their best to make my wife's last days good.

"Mixed Impressions of Assisted Living Facility"
They were nice and supportive at first. The meals used to be tastier but there's a new cook now, so hopefully, it'll get better. It's a bit expensive but it's worth the cost compared to other options. We chose this place because it had good reviews from APFM, offers financial aid, and is a better deal compared to others. When I visited, it didn't stink, so it's well taken care of and neat.

"Good Care, Short on Outdoor Support & Facility Maintenance"
My loved one seems to be getting decent care here. However, they told me they'd support him with outdoor activities, but it doesn't look like they're doing enough in that regard. All the staff members appear friendly. I wish Sunrise would maintain the facility more effectively. There's damage in the rooms that aren't being taken care of.

"Mixed feelings about staff, but generally better than expected"
The place is perfectly located for us to drop by often. Everyone working here is really nice. He has a soft spot for the lady who cleans his apartment. His apartment is comfy, clean and it's new. He did mention something, though. The people serving food don't seem too thrilled about their work. But, surprisingly, it’s generally better than we expected.

This place is not nice. It's cold and cruel. It feels nothing like a family home. There are activities like puzzles, games, and singing, but that's not enough. The staff care little about the people living there.'

"Community okay but staff's communication needs improvement"
I'd say the community isn't terrible for families with older folks, but be ready to play defense for them. They've got bus tours around town, bingo games, trivia events, even church services to keep everyone busy. But, in my opinion, the staff could really do better communicating with families quickly.

"Affordable Care with Personal Space in Assisted Living Facility"
The price tag isn't cheap, but it provides value compared to around-the-clock home care. It sports a tidy surrounding. Everyone has their own spaces even when they require assistance. The helpers are just a room away, providing a good sense of security. The aesthetic appeal of the facility doesn't disappoint. The staff, who are quite conscientious and involved, try their best to form a bond with everyone. Entering the facility might seem inundated with medical and legal necessities, but they're quite supportive in taking you through. Their meal service is passable, in line with common institution fare. They do have a pretty broad array of activities, however not very appealing to my dear ones.

"Appalling Dementia Care and Lack of Communication at Facility"
Terrible spot. My mom struggles with dementia but they never have any activities planned for her. They're also supposed to communicate with us through an app and let us know about her activities and include pictures, but they don't.

"Decent Place with Services and Friendly Staff"
This place isn't too bad, it's definitely better than a regular apartment. They serve breakfast and dinner, plus you can buy lunch if you want. They clean our rooms once a week and take out the trash almost every night. There's even a little bus that takes us to the store and other shopping trips. The people working here seem really nice and kind to everyone.

"Very Disappointed by the Staff and Facility"
I was totally let down by the place and the people working here. The food stunk! Talking to was such a hassle...she clearly doesn't care about old folks. I hope we can find a way not to have to put my Mom here.

"Impressed by Staff and Facility, Recommends Sunrise of Severna Park"
It's because of the friendly staff that I opted for Sunrise of Severna Park. From the outside, it has the majesty of Disneyland. They well-maintain the cleanliness of the expansive grounds, letting you enjoy long walks. With a move-in discount, I'm getting excellent value for money. Though my apartment is small, it's sufficient for my needs, plus I have a porch. Meals come in two options, all prepared by a chef. For those initially joining as independents, transitioning to extra care is seamless with their assisted living section. I would wholly endorse this to anyone in search of such facilities.

"Sunrise Facility: Nice Staff, but Lacks Adequate Care and Staffing"
I want everyone to understand that, while Sunrise tried to be good to me, they fell short in the end. When it came time to move my dad out, they really tried to make it work, but we couldn't risk it. I don't believe they met my dad's care needs, and their staff was insufficient. Make sure you're asking the hard questions.
