Sunshine House II

"Unanswered Calls and Broken Promises, No Refund from Assisted Living"
My husband lived at the facility and I always followed through with my monthly payments. I even paid a month in advance, but unfortunately, he passed away at the end of that month. After packing up his things and settling affairs, it became apparent that the facility needed to refund me for the following month that I'd already paid for. The owner agreed. But time passed, three weeks in fact, and I didn't see the check. I rang them up but couldn't get through. Even after leaving plenty of messages, no one called me back. I had a family member try, and the owner promised them the check would be mailed. But, I am still waiting for that $7000 check.

"Owner of Sunshine House Keeps Money After Loved One's Passing"
I'm dissatisfied with Sunshine House. If your loved one passes away, the owner still keeps your money. I had to seek assistance from the Maryland state government.

"Excellent Staff, But Questionable Concern from Facility Owner"
The staff is amazing, they genuinely care and the food is excellent. Unfortunately, it seemed like the owner was more focused on profit than on my loved one who passed away here.

"Dissatisfied with Isolating Assisted Living Care"
I'm really unhappy with this place. My dear one, and another man are the only ones there. I think he's lonely because the staff and other residents don't really interact with him. They should be helping him stay awake and social. But they usually keep his door shut or just slightly open. The place looks nice. But it's different than what I'm used to and not what I thought it would be. I also have to bring everything myself. They tell you exactly what to bring - even what brands and kinds of things. It's a dull place with no one to talk to. Overall, it's a letdown.

"Unhappy with it. Lack of Interaction, Tough Rules, Very Dissatisfying."
I'm not pleased with this place. Among those staying, there are two men, one of whom is someone close to me. It feels like he's just left alone, with barely any connection with staff or other people living there. They don't help him wake up or interact socially. Plus they always keep the door closed or just a bit open. Sure, it looks nice but it's not what I'm used to or what I was expecting. I'm the one who has to bring everything, and they are super picky about what you provide - even down to the brand and type. It's dull and there's no one to chat with. It's honestly a letdown.
