"Visiting Rules Could Be More Flexible"
The owner is really nice, the place is super clean, and my father-in-law seems to like everyone. My only complaint is about the visiting rules. They only allow two-hour visits, and you have to schedule them. Also, only two families can visit at a time.

"Nice place, but too far away."
We toured Sycamore Acres and really liked the community and people. However, it was too far away for us, so we chose a place in a better location.

"Language Barrier Solved: Welcoming and Clean Community"
When we visited Sycamore Acres II, everyone was really friendly. The community looked nice and was super clean. We needed someone who could speak Mandarin to talk to my family member, and they were able to help us with that. It was a good experience overall.

"Clean and Friendly, Lacking Activities for Residents"
Sycamore is really clean, and the staff are super nice. Compared to places that cost a thousand dollars less, this one is way better. The biggest issue is that my mom is really bored because there aren't any activities for her. She can't see well and can't follow the TV shows. There are only three other residents who can talk, and even that's hard because she can't hear well. I wish they would do things like toss a balloon around or have some music playing. I picked Sycamore because it's the nicest-looking place I've seen. It's in a rural area with million-dollar homes and stables nearby, lots of trees—it's just beautiful. It's a place I would choose for myself.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living for Mom"
My mom just moved into this place. It might be too soon to say how good it is. I don't have much to compare it to, and I've never been around this kind of place before it's like a group home. But I am very particular, and I agreed to let my mom stay here. Most of the people who live here are really, really old, so there's a lot of one-on-one time with the staff. They even take them out for walks. I'm not sure if my mom likes being there or not, but at least she doesn't feel uncomfortable.

"Affordable, small, limited activities, aging residents, space available"
My friend has been here for less than a month, so this is my initial judgment. He was in a more expensive community before and was worried about his money running out, so he asked us to find him a cheaper place. Money was his main concern. They don't seem to have many activities, but I think that's partly because of the abilities of the residents. My friend is 92, and most people here seem less independent than he is. The owner said they used to take residents out to lunch once a week, but now the residents have aged in place, so they can't do that anymore. It's a small community, licensed for 12 beds. My friend filled the 7th one, so there are more spaces available.
